Bumping some old thread here, but have some more information. Guys switched my battery, but in such way that they removed completely old battery, disconnect it fully and then connect new one; which somehow "rebooted to factory settings". After that, there were no issue only up to when I wash the car first time. Now, it is same old, when it is colder I need to trigger volume up/down on the steering wheel in order do have working electronics on the wheel. After that it works for a minute, then again I need to spin that volume wheel in order to work. Tried to explain to the Skoda representative, but they are completely blunt about this. Hopefully this will give someone more inside and guide me in right direction. Thanks!

Hello guys, I have an issue, security one -- as it is concerning inability to use horn. From time to time, horn is not working -- the only way I can "enable" is that I scroll up/down volume button on steering wheel, and after second/two -- when I see/hear volume change the horn starts again to work. My car is Octavia II FL DSG 2.0 LK with Columbus. Anyone know what might be happening with this issue? It seems it is not mechanic, as turning around steering wheel does not unlock the horn. Thank you! V

dstev2000, thank you for info. What is the reason for bringing "down" daily lights by VW? Is it possible to "save" main lights, which are Xenon. Generally, if I switch them back (to Xenon) will that shorten life of Xenon bulb? How are they compared to "normal" bulbs which I had on pre-facelifted Octavia II? Regards!

Hello, I've searched in forums and I couldn't find any topic relevant to my issue. Just got my hands on new Octavia 2.0 DSG L&K and when I started it instead daily lights to be enabled on normal light they are enabled on lights for fog. In dealership they've told that this is new thing from all VW vehicles, which is completely new info for me; and I suspect it is new thing for policemen. Does anybody knows more about this and possibility to disable this 'feature'? Thanks!

Hi guys, I've asked my service to enable "always light on" as soon as engine is started, this works perfectly. I can switch light on middle button and it will turn main lights, but side lights will stay on (while engine is working). My question is, is there any shortcut/trick how to completely disable lights while engine is running? TIA! Josh
