I liked the idea that the vRS is different... it was more special then the others... now its not :-(

sell your car, buy what you really want !!! and get the DSG...

a few quirks and sliping cluch is due to a bad gearbox computer... it happened in mine... also made damage to the flywheel... about car racer and manual... DSG is better for performance then a manual gearbox... the DSG is THE BEST GEARBOX EVER MADE. GO FOR THE DSG. (btw the bad computer and flywheel was covered by waranty)

go for the 1.9 DSG NO DOUBT i can't beleave it is a question have you driven both ? (i have both 1.9 dsg octavia and 1.6 tip golf, both latest models, i know what i am talking about) on paper they may have the same HP output BUT the tourqe that the 1.9 makes is such a diffrance... and the DSG aside the Tiptronic... well the Tiptronic on the 1.6 is very (!) lazy, slow and so bad... and don't forget: if you think about a remap on the 1.9... it WILL be faster then a standart 2.0 TDI 140 PD.

aint it a bit ugly that the dials are white and the rest is green ???????

went to the dealer today after having about 2 months a lot of creeks and jumps from the DSG in 1st and 2nd at low speed in relaxed driving... the dealer said that the DSG computer is busted and this also busted the flywheel... its a 2008 octavia II 1.9tdi with 60,000 kM anyone had the same problem ?

i drove a lot of 1.9 and in all of them i heard the whistle... including mine... its normal

anybody noticed that when you pull the windscreen whiper towards you (to whipe with water) the climate changes to recirculation mode for a few seconds ?

by all means you're wrong about the golf is better in any way then the octavia, i have a golf and an octavia (same platrofm, parallel trim level)and the octavia is better then the golf in EVERYTHING

youre right about taste, personaly i prefer by far the green in my octavia over the red/blue in my golf, even that i am not a fan of green dials... and the red in audi is great...
