  1. I did wonder, any time I’ve switched it on the fan has gotten louder the same way it used to with recirculation in other cars. I don’t want to leave it on all the time if it’s gonna be doing that.
  2. Hi all, long time Skoda owner! First time Octavia owner ( loving it so far). whilst playing around with the settings I’ve com accross “Air Care”, I’ve tried reading the manual, I’ve tried google but don’t seem to be able to find out much about it. So. A couple of questions if anyone can help: 1. What actually is it? Is it just a fancy uprated pollen filter? 2. Does it actually filter any more or is it just a fancy name for good old fashioned recirculation? 3. Should it be on all the time or only when needed? I hate the fact that I have t ask this, I feel like such a noob, but the manual realy has pants description.
  3. Ok, so I feel I should update. I’ve now driven both the 1.0 tsi & 1.5tsi. I have to say the 1.0 was mighty impressive. However I’ve decided to go with the 1.5tsi SEL. Ordered on Monday with Delivery in March. The 5 month wait will feel like 5 years. Now on for my findings, I get that others may think deifferntly but this I what I think based on my driving style and the areas I’ll be driving. I tried them back to back with both up to operating temperature when I set off. I drove them both on the same 12 mile route trying where possible to keep the two runs the same. The 1.0 managed 47mpg and the 1.5 actually managed 51! I found the 1.0 perfectly adequate but the power doesn’t really kick it till about 2300rpm, anything below that and it feels flat. The 1.5 by comparison kicks its heels and takes off from about 1300rpm. So from that point of view the 1.5 feels more flexible and more akin to a diesel driving style (which I like). So basecin my personal experience the 1.5 was the only choice, it has both power and efficiency. One thing I did notice was that even which the revs up high fir power the 1.0 was quieter than the 1.5. Not that the 1.5 was particularly noisey, I just noticed that the 1.0 was a much quieter drive? Had I chosen the 1.0 without driving them both I’m sure I would have been very happy with it, but having driven them both for me it had to be the 1.5tsi. id be interested to hear if anyone else tried both and what their thoughts were? Kenny.
  4. Thanks for that. If that’s all the difference I don’t think it’s worth £155.
  5. Does anyone have these? If so what’s the actual different between high and low LED lamps? The configurator has no description, just a picture which doesn’t look any different?
  6. Hi everyone, I’m in the process of looking for my next car. Unsurprisingly I’m looking at an Octavia (what else would I be here?). I have a couple of questions if anyone can answer? if I go for se-tech 1.0 dsg will it have paddles on the steering wheel for the dsg? I can’t find anything about it online. A friend has an se-tech Karoq which had the, A’s standard at the start of the year but Skoda seem to be changing standard spec weekly at the moment? Anyone else have one of theses? How’s the 1.0 cope! It’s such a small 3 cylinder unit it doesn’t quite seem possible? does anyone know if the se-tech is a trim aimed specifically at contract hire only or can it be bought on PCP too? look forward to any replies. kenny
  7. What colour is this? I kinda looks like Race Blue but darker?
  8. Could you explain this issue please? I’m looking at replacing my Yeti with an Oct. not an estate but I’m swithering between the 1.0tsi DSG and 1.5tsi manual.
  9. Noooo! Technically the title is wrong now, it should say Yeti was on a ship Now it's safely parked up outside my house.
  10. Ah, sorry my mistake, I'm Apple Maybe that's one of the differences?
  11. I've only played around with for a wee while but I managed to get all my albums to show and was able to scroll up and down through the whole list? I went in through the Music icon and accessed albums? Incedently I also got a wee gift from my dealer, a presentation box with key ring, pen, business cards of my dealer and underneath that a Škoda insulated mug. I might be biased but I think I've got one of the best dealers around
  12. Yeah! My Yeti is here actually got it yesterday but been too busy trying to get my old car ready to go back I've not had time to play with my Yeti. 1.2DSG SEL Drive in Quartz Grey - love it. I got the umbrella under the passenger seat, cargo netting in the boot along with the wee plastic doohickey that attaches to the boot side. I don't have the seat back tables. The only extra I oredered was Smart Link - it works really well having some of the phone apps on screen is quite useful and at only £150 it wasn't too bad. Looking forward to the weeks and months to come.
  13. It comes with an umbrella? I thought that was the reserve of the superb? I shall have to make sure I get mine. I'll let you he Re: the seat back tables on Saturday.
  14. I've still got 2 sleeps to go! Got a long say at work tomorrow so that'll keep my mind of it and then Saturday morning too, so it'll be Yeti time before I know it. As far as Sat Nav's go I've only ever had TomTom before, apart from the Leafs built in one and the TomTom was far superior. The only thing the built in had going for it was convenience - that said I don't need Sat Nav that often so it's not really a deal breaker and if need it I've got the TomTom on my phone anyway. Having said that I have found myself using google maps on occasion too as it's constantly updated it's always way more accurate than anything else too.
  15. Ok, 7 sleeps to go
  16. At least not until Mk11 comes along?
  17. I'm still waiting, last I'd heard my car was still at the docks! Not sure when exactly it'll arrive as still waiting on ECM so dealer has given me a date of 25th to make sure its hear and ready. So 1 week from tomorrow before I'm a Yeti owner. So pleased that everyone else it getting theirs and are happy, I'm looking forward to it.
  18. I'm confused, are the headlights not Bi-Xenon? Why does it have an H7 main beam bulb then? Is this an extra bulb due to the fact it has AFS11 and therefore the Xenon bulbs could be pointing in all different directions? Please excuse my ignorance I've only ever owned early dipped beam xenon standard equipped cars and won't have my Yeti till the 25th
  19. Last time I placed a factory order it too 3 months. This time my car was already built and waiting allocation. Has been built 2 days prior to me saying I wanted it. It just under a week to get from Czech to Emden Port, it sat there for a few days and was shipped last Wednesday. It arrived the next Day, Thursday, into Tyne Port. My dealer contacted me on Saturday to say the status had updated to say it was at the Port in the Uk. So now just waiting on it getting loaded onto a transporter and being taken to my dealer followed by PDI and the. It's mine. So Im surmising that from build finishing to dealer and onto the owner has a timescale of about 4 weeks so I'm hopeful of a week to a week and a half and I'll have mine..
  20. Hi Richard, I got your message and sent you a rather long winded reply. Did you get it. I hope I didn't bore you with it?
  21. Mine is pretty much a standard SEL Drive with a black interior. 1.2 TSI DSG. Can't wait, really excited. I'll be coming back to my 7th Skoda from a Nissan Leaf electric car.
  22. I spoke with Skoda UK earlier today who told me the status of my Yeti is now showing as shipping. Going from Emden to Tyne, so with a little bit of google searching I figure my car is on the City of Sunderland RoRo cargo ship. Due to dock tomorrow at teatime. which means it's still going to be about a fortnight before I get it but it's exciting to know that it's finally headed to the UK.
  23. I hope the new Yeti is better than the Ateca, when I looked at it it looks so cheap inside. Scratchy wheelie bin plastic everywhere! Much prefer the fit and finish of the Yeti.
  24. Personally if I'd agreed to stay below a certain mileage I'd expect to have honour that whether I keep if the full term or hand it back early?
  25. I'm sure on the golf if you brake gently the parking brake doesn't auto engage. You have to press the foot brake quite forcefully in order to activate that function. The if i remember a gentle tap on the throttle wakes the engine up and releases the parking brake. I was a year or so ago I drove the golf i'm talking about but I did drive it from Edinburgh to Coventry via Glasgow and back again.
