  1. Can someone please add me to the list in the first post? thanks! Ryan
  2. Good thanks for that guys, will head down with Paul then, look forward to it!
  3. Hi As a long time member and twice previous Skoda owner and attendee at previous JKM days would it be ok to bring my beemer and run it at the end as I know Jim and Keith would need to turn the dyno round? Cheers, Ryan
  4. 47mpg, how'd you get that? Higher mileage car, driving at 68mph on a motorway? Lucky for 42/43 on mine with 24k on the clock.
  5. Still thinking of going for the Goodyears as best price/performance combination. Vreds sound good but I cant be hassled with ordering and trying to get someone to fit them. Mind you less of a rush now as the current ones on the car are not a bad as i first thought. Place one told me 1.8-2mm left and place two told me 4mm left (with a gauge). First place didnt use a gauge and guessed to try and make me buy 4 of whatever they had in stock there and then - wont be going there then, despite it being a reputable place (I thought) that I have used in the past!
  6. Sorry, another thread on tyres, but I have done a search and the current content seems to be about winter tyres and the regular tyre threads seem a little old. Basically I need to replace all 4 tyres on my 58 plate Octy II vRS PD170 and have a few options on what to get (225/40/18). Current tyres are from the factory I think as the car is on 24k, running Conti Sport Contact 2. Options so far Conti Sport Contact 3 £131 each Goodyear F1 Assymetric £121 each Falken 452/912 around £85-£95 each Also had mentioned Bridgestone but they are quite a hard compound. Driving is mixed of town and motorway (mainly for work) and around 10-15k per year. Looking for something with a good sporty grip, low noise, good in dry and wet. Having used Goodyear F1 GSD3 on a previous car I know how good they are, albeit a lighter small engine petrol car, and the Assymetric is the newer version of it and a slighter firmer compound. Its also done very well in Evo tyre tests etc. Currently my top choice. I have looked into the popular Vredstein Sessenta that is widely acclaimed on here but all my local tyre places dont seem to know of them, or the one place that does cant get any until February! Aprreciate any current thoughts and comments just in case I have missed anything obvious on this! Hopefully will order them tomorrow if not a stock line or will get something from stock later in the week. Cheers in advance. Ryan
  7. thanks, yeah in great condition all round, only a couple of very tiny front stone chips.
  8. I use Sonus Ultra Fine Green and Elite Car Care Ultra Fine Poly Clay, both are great. I use them with Dodo Juice Born Slippy clay lube.
  9. Completed a big detail on the Octy a few weeks ago, full write up over on Detailing World (with photos) Cheers Ryan
  10. how do you find compatability etc? company has recommended the bury kit to me and i dont want a touch screen kit unless its dead easy to use, think buttions are easier to use! although the voice dialling of the bury could be good.
  11. looks ok, how do you find the touch screen to use and how easy to dial a contact? really thinking buttons are easier whilst driving! also looks a bit big, so much so that you have to take it off the mount each time you get out the car - I cant be done with that!
  12. thanks all, devices will be all HTC, mainly the newer ones in the range, currently using a Desire and Snap, so both Bluetooth 2.1 I think. As silver1011 says, not too bothered about pictures and extra screen functions, just something basic and functional. Will see what the company comes back with - work are paying so I may not have too much choice in product, just more about where is gets fitted in the car! I dont want any holes or sticky pads really, so guessing Brodit is a good option?
