  1. Do you have the rear axle?? Might be good if you can list all the bits that are left!☺ Thanks Dan
  2. And the 'how to'guide in the Techincal Section is excellent
  3. On mine the cable was fine but the plastic part at the bottom has broken into pieces. I did find another identical seat (black Elegance) at a breakers but that had the same issue!! :( Re the airbag issue, Im guessing that would be in a self contained unit inside the seat so shouldnt cause any concern especially if unplugged??

  5. Has anyone fitted one of these?? http://www.skodaparts.com/product/octavia- lumbar-support-repair-kit-1996-2008-29554 If so how easy was it? Ordered one for mine and wondered if anyone had any tips! Thanks in advance!
  6. Thanks Tech1e, usual straight forward procedure then! Do we need a set of new bolts too?? Dan
  7. Hi All My neighbour has a very nice Superb II however following a recent main dealer service, they advised that one of the rear springs is broken. Rather than pay dealer rates, he has bought a pair of replacement springs from Euros as he wants to change them himself. Most cars are usually quite easy to do but I have been looking for a 'how to' on the net but nothing is coming up. It looks fairly straight forward, however can anyone please share their experiences of changing them and anything particular we need to know? Many thanks Dan
  8. I would have the 1.9TDi over the newer 1.6CR TDi any day. Been very disappointed with the newer 1.6CR in our 10 plate Ibiza - EGR issues, poor torque and fuel consumption no better. Not had DPF issues but have had this mapped out along with EGR and more power. It is quieter than the PD though. Dan
  9. We had EGR issues with our 10 plate Ibiza Sport 1.6CR TDI within 2 weeks of purchasing it. Trader we bought it from paid for EGR delete (as I was going to have it remapped at some point anyway) and I paid a bit extra for DPF software removal and more torque/bhp. As yet I have not had DPF physically removed but it will need removing at some point in the near future as it will block up in time. After the remap I fitted an EGR blank plate on the pipe as it enters the block which made the car run even better. DPF will be removed by cutting out a square in the canister, knocking out the honeycomb DPF inside and welding the DPF canister back up. This will pass the MOT. Even if you just have EGR delete it is a 'remap' anyway so you may as well have DPF delete and more power at the same time? Dan
  10. The sensor wire may have rubbed against the driveshaft and broken the circuit hence the light on the dash. I had it on my Octavia so cut and trimmed the wires back and shorted them - no more warning light! Dan
  11. Of course if oil pump fails will also take out turbo and potentially damage other stuff......
  12. Also just to add, if I bought it first thing I was going to have done was oil pump drive as a preventative measure. There is a firm near Sheffield called KMB Direct who supply and fit upgraded balance shaft gear and oil pump drive for £560 all in. Not exactly a cheap fix but better than having to fork out for a new engine....
  13. I hope you get this fixed up nice Bigotts - needed some TLC but if you have time and patience (and a bit of spare cash lol) should make a nice car again. Keep us updated and share some photos Dan
  14. Well I hope he sorted the 'rattle' on idle (which he told me was bits of the broken up DPF in the back box) which sounded awful. After seeing the car I best describe it as a 'trade' car. The interior was grubby and had a cut in the passenger front seat. The six sense kicked in and said 'no' and I walked away. I know it wasn't a lot of money but these cars don't keep their value unfortunately especially with the troublesome 2.0PD BSS engine and oil pump drive. I hope the car turns out OK for you and you have no expensive issues. Dan
  15. Our Ibiza still does it with the non-remote spare!! Anything in VCDS to clear it as battery was changed... Thanks Dan
  16. Well a further scan this time with VCDS has revealed the problem......the EGR valve... If I blanked it, would I still need a remap to remove the EML? Trader I bought it off is looking for a cheap remedy as a replacement is going to be expensive mainly due to the labour cost as the EGR valve/cooler is right at the back if the engine and a complete PTA to change.... Dan
  17. We've recently bought a Mk5 Ibiza and 'KEY BAT' comes up on MFD display for a few seconds when ignition switched in. I have changed the remote battery but still the same - is thus something that happens on a Fabia?? If so how do I get rid of it?? Many thanks Dan

  19. We've had no letter from Seat and I've entered the chassis number on the Seat website and that says its not affected.... Dan
  20. Fitted a few of these now on different Octavias and have been fine so far! Dan
  21. Hi All Having issues already with our Seat Ibiza 1.6CR TDi Sport.... Had the dreaded flashing coil light and associated limp mode. Took it back to the garage we purchased it from, codes read and came back with lambda sensor fault. Sensor ordered returned last Saturday to have new sensor fitted. Codes cleared drove up the road got about 3 miles and, yes you've guessed it..... Took car straight back rescanned and fault code logged P0132 Oxygen Lambda Sensor Signal too high cannot be tested at this time. Has anyone else had similar issues with their Fabia with the same engine? Got to say that so far underwhelmed with this car especially the engine, performance and economy very disappointing. Dread to think what they perform like in an Octavia..... Any help greatly appreciated Thanks Dan
  22. We've just bought a Seat Ibiza 1.6CR TDI Sport (105PS) '10' plate with 75k on the clock - had it just under a month and have had the flashing glowplug light three times this week plus limp mode (but no DPF light). Turn engine off and restart and all is back to 'normal'. I took it back to the dealer/trader we bought it from today, suspecting EGR fault however on his Snap On diagnostics, fault came up as '7679 Oxygen Lambda Sensor' which we were both surprised by. No other faults came up. I didn't know that modern common-rail diesel engines have a lambda sensor? Dealer said he would replace offending sensor but just wondering if this is masking other issues, as fuel consumption and performance are disappointing, especially as these engines are supposed to be very economical..... Just wondering if a faulty Lambda sensor will affect fuel economy and performance - anyone else had similar issues with their Fabia?? Thanks Dan
