Yeah you need to order the mdi as an option but when i ordered the car the dealer did not know anything about it, hence car arrived with no mdi built in. the question is is it possible to retrofit this feature ie. original skoda mdi and not a dension unit?? Thanks

I cant seem to get the english version of that page to work... is the CAN cable harness there, would also need the ipod cable!

Anyone know if this fits the new swing radio???

i had e-mailed kufatec and they told me that this was not compatible with swing radio and that the would look into it. Would that display in the maxi dot the artist etc?

Yeah my car is the facelift with the swing radio, steering wheel controls and the maxi dot display. Skoda Ireland said it wasnt retrofitable. where can i get the unit to install it? Obviously the original part would be my first choice and if it is possible to get it i will go down that route.

I would get the skoda "mdi" interface but have been told by Skoda Ireland that this is not retrofittable and they do not sell the units aftermarket. the best they came up with for me is an original vw ipod adapter. Of course with the vw unit there is no text display so dunno wat to do!

I have the swing radio with maxi dot. When I play mp3 CDs the name comes up on the maxi dot. Tried the dension gw16vc1 but it knocked out the audio menu from the display. As soon as i disconnected the dension everything returned to nomal. Dunno war to try now. Any thoughts?

Just wondering if anyone has a Desion Gateway fitted and has managed to get the song info to display on the Maxi-dot display???

Anyone know which Dension would work with the "Swing" radio?? It would be class to be able to control ipod from this stereo!

Just ordered an Octavia with a "swing" radio. I saw on the accessories brochure that it is possible to connect an ipod via a"mdi" cable in the glove box as opposed to the aux jack in the centre armrest. There is no socket in the glove box though, just wondering has anyone encountered this? Is it possible to control ipod from this radio and steering wheel controls?? Thanks, Dave

Skoda replaced it today and all seems to be working now... thanks for the suggestions though, looks like we'll never know wat went wrong!!
