  1. When car handling is poor . Steering wheel veers to right and rumbling noise can be heard .... Do not get a quote from F1 for repairs of possible expensive damage ..... ..... Check the blooming near side front wheel. Punctured tyres only get expensive when driven on and new tyres are needed Lord bless the RAC ..... Hey i'm female ok ! Lol ** Hangs head in shame**
  2. Just tried to order one for Clutterbuck. Hit a technical snarl up :( ... got stuck in the "Verified by Visa" option and said my bank declined it !?!?!? yet bank has withdrawn the amount and also my visa card too (i tried it on that after debit card failed) ... Hubby's card worked though and comfirmation email received SO may get one or may get 3 stickers lol Oooops !
  3. This may be an illusion but i don't think so. When idling at lights etc .. if i push on the brake pedal my revs drop, almost to stalling point ... ?!?. This will happen until the car is warmed, at least is less noticable. I also get a rubbing/vibrating noise (not major) when this happens. Has anyone encountered this before ? Still getting blooming battery light illuminating whilst driving but seems to be limited to after a damp night, so hopefully the belt etc is just damp, it does stop after a while and there is a whir noise which 'apparently' means it is the belt being loose rather than the alternator (phew). Also daft question ... should the exhaust be rigid mounted to the underside or is there some "play" there ? ... new one fitted a few weeks ago but it seems looser than it was and a bit rattly. The other Skoda in our parking area has a firm exhaust (gave it a wobble ) but it's a spanking Octavia so not directly comparable. Could bad roads and a lot of motorway driving recently made it loose or damaged the clips ? or could it just of 'warn in' now to it's final position ? Last daft question for now .... T-Cut .... Original or the newer ColourFast (with chip stick ... Ooooo ) .... anyone used either and found one better ? Thanks for any info and im away to perv at the posts i have missed while away ...
  4. Lol Thanks ... think i will just take the fine etc. Had a clean licence up until this so not too bad (not good either) How long do the points stay on your licence ?
  5. Swedish ... Thanks .. yep, it still hurts though this took us by shock. We have been expecting Nan and got a call about Bob having a stroke and arresting twice. Was rather out of the blue. He is being planted on Thurs so it's back to Sutton (though not a mad dash and night drive this time) so looking at the "talex" and"novus" i think it might be a sound investment. The height of stupidity was coming out of Cheam (think) and have a small dual carriage way .. it had two temp speed signs (one on each lane) the right was a 30 and the left was a 40. Both were parallel to each other ?!?! By this time i was *****ed off and felt like going down the middle and doing 35 :banghead: Bit concerned about the talk of "court" and "sentnces" .. i thought you just got a letter and paid the fine !?. One of the links mentions infa-red cameras that don't even flash  so Lord knows how much i racked up !! This is my first fine/offence .. can you tell ? lol Odd how i view them now ... as a pedestrian (sp) it was "Well if you don't speed you won't get fined" and now it's "Let me know the bloody limit so i can keep to it !" and "give me so warning" . Well hope this finds all well .. i'm off to make Muffins for the Judge
  6. Hi Yep variable speed and weird limits 60 -> 30 with a minutes warning then BOOM FLASH lol ... Was going through Cheam/Kingston (A3 way) i THINK ... we got lost and there were camera signs everywhere. Dread to think what i'll get ... looks like £60 +3/6 points :eek: Do you think a basket of muffins would help ?!?!? *Mutter* *Mutter* *Grumble* My father with rather a dry sense of humour, reckons i should frame it !
  7. Well i got the call. Sod's law meant that my Uncle pipped Nan to the post and decided enough was enough and didn't want to play anymore. He was 46 :( Clutterbuck got us to Sutton and back without a glitch ... ran sweet as a nut and ate up the M25 (WooooHoooo) So well in fact ... i got a Speeding Ticket (well at least the flash, ticket to follow i presume) but is was in a hurry ikwim. So here's to Skoda's acheiving warp speed and getting flashed in the process
  8. Clutterbuck ... Though changed to Clatterbuck now the drive chain has announced it's self !!
  9. "Happy Birthday To You ... " I wonder if there is such a thing as Car Years ? Pinky could be in her equivalent 90's ... No wonder she is a little leaky. Time for some "Tena Lady" ... a product i am not intimately familair with i hasten to add
  10. Ooooo ... i do like those chaps at F1. Picked up CB this evening. Rear shockes (both) .. Offside Bearing and horn all done and dusted. Really is true that you don't notice something until it is gone. Pulling out of garage with a rather skeptical outlook for the coming ride ... over the dipped curb onto the road, not a bump/bobble or wobble in site !. Manhole covers, raised areas and general Bristolian roads ... a breeze. Feels like a totally new car to drive. One slight niggle is the horn, admittedly it was in poor condition prior to failing completely but it had a lovely throaty "honk" ... now it has rather a quaint girly "peep" ... i have a gender confused Skoda All my bouncy bits nicely firmed up thanks to F1 and not a muffin in sight T.
  11. Lmao ... Without a doubt ... I'd say the blooming wheels will fall off next but they checked those too It's quite disconcerting to see your car on ramps with no wheels :Yikes:. Timing works well too, hoping to take Chloe (my oldest) to Longleat for her birthday, before things go pair-shaped with Nan, with any luck we can get the work done next weekend. Question :- Mech mentioned the chain, noisy as ever. He said it might not need the whole chain but maybe just replacing the "tensioner" ? .... i may of got this really wrong but (from other posts) thought you could not alter the tension on a chain, just on a belt ?? Tina
  12. Holly Willoughby (sp) .... A Bint and Trout ? .... Bint, from the Arabic word for 'daughter', is a derogatory slang word in the United Kingdom meaning woman or girl. Usage varies from the harsh 'bitch', to only a slightly derogatory, almost affectionate, term for a young woman. The latter being associated more with usage in the West Midlands. The term was used in British armed forces and the London area synonymously with 'bird' from at least the 1950s. Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bint" Me thinks not a fan .. ?
  13. WooooHoooo.... Some bad news but not too bad at all. Had it's once over and came back with needing :- 2 x Rear Shocks 1x Rear barring 1x Horn Washer fluid ..... and thats IT. None are an MOT fail, advisory at most. £220 and CB is top notch.
  14. Lmao ... don't know about the coffee and muffins but did have a laugh trying to describe problems with my bouncy bits . I'm still gloating over the poor Audi ... malicious ? Moi ? .... Daaaaamn right T..
