  1. Went in last year in search of a used Octy Estate. Salesman took all my details but I received no response. All Electric had one in stock & I purchased no problem (except missing jack). Even transported the car to their Halesowen Branch so I could collect nearer home. First service last week. No courtesy car offered - but one was not required. Car went in clean, so I don't know if it would have been cleaned. Roger on reception, very friendly & helpful. Telephoned when car was ready. Computer was "down" so no detailed bill was available, still await the bill in the post. Slightly more than quoted due to brake fluid change. I would use again for servicing, but they could improve their reputation by offering onward transport of driver to work/home.
  2. Thank you all for your replies. The 2-3 year change could have excluded the Fords, not the Volvo's or BMW's.
  3. Just out of interest. For over 40 years I ran company cars (Fords, Volvo's BMW) all serviced at main dealers. Some were quite old (for company cars) when they were part exchanged. Never had a brake fluid change. Why Skoda's?
  4. Car is 1.9TDI (DSG) Elegance (56 plate). Me, first time Skoda owner and diesel driver. Sometimes when I accelerate to pull away the car just refuses to rev up. Is this a fault with the car or my style of driving the Skoda? Would I solve the problem by pulling away in "manual mode"? Or, perhaps a softer foot on the accelerator. Many thanks for any help.
  5. In my time, courtesy of company cars, I have tried the BMW's, the Mercs, the Volvo's etc etc. Now retired and I have in the last few months (finally) changed my Volvo for a 56 plate 1.9 TDI Octavia. Why did I not do this years ago? Why did you guys keep quiet on this car? What economy, what value for money. It's a pleasure to go driving now. Finally I get to drive the best.
  6. Owned an S40 2.0 for 8 years. Solid build & no big repairs. MPG awful (average 25mpg) access for large items in boot - awful, same if you tried putting the bulky item on the backseat. Changed to a Skoda 2 months ago. Would not change back.
