  1. Ootohere Just about done 500 miles, so it sounds like it may click over soon then??? What is the range on a full tank of Ad-blue do you happen to know??? I see yours is showing 7000miles????
  2. 2019 1.6 diesel Octavia, 87000 miles, when I bought it a few weeks ago it said there was 6500 miles range on the Adblue. Thought I would just check again today and it’s still reading 6500 miles range. Faulty sensor = new tank?????
  3. Thank you PetrolDave, my fault I should have mentioned it is an Amundsen. Is it best to go for the ŠKODA Sim, seen them mentioned, don’t really want to just stuff anything in and bugger things up!!!!
  4. I very recently purchased a 2019 1.6 Diesel Octavia and need to ask a question regarding the sat nav. i have had various Octavia’s over the years and my last one was a 2013 2.0 lt Diesel and when i got it the maps were really helpful (not the lack of postcode though) in respect of me driving a route and coming up on roadworks. i would be notified of the roadworks and if necessary given a route change. This stopped over the last couple of years which was a bit inconvenient. my new one I thought would be more intuitive but no, it is worse. I had to drive past the road closure on A36 Limpley Stoke and when I took the signposted diversion it would continually tell me to do a U turn and for the next few miles kept telling me to go back. It wouldn’t recommend any alternatives and the road sign diversions disappeared so ended up going all over the place trying to get on track. i also notice the Infotainment system has the facility for a SIM card. can anyone tell me if the intuitive side of the sat nav relies on a sim access and/or is there a way to get around roadworks/accidents without being told to do U turns for the next few miles??? Thank you in advance.
  5. I am not sure if this has been covered before but I couldn’t find anything in a search. i just wondered if changing a cambelt on a 2013 2.0 diesel is possible as a diy job??? i had heard it can be a real pain and involves removing the front engine mount????
  6. Yeah I think tweeking is going to be cheaper, probably worth half the vehicle’s value at the moment so financially not really worth it. Thank you for your quick reply and offer.
  7. I have a 2013 2.0 5E TDI CR Elegance and was under the impression it didn’t have DPF. I have the same thing and sometimes even after a long journey. I am have been trying to find out the feasibility of upgrading the car to Euro 6 as I live in Bristol. Some say it’s possible but neither Skoda or DVLA will accept it. I was also under the impression that the DPF sometimes required servicing which could get expensive. Any assistance/advice would be gratefully received. ps: just can’t afford to change my car, love Skoda Diesels but even second hand are out of my reach as a pensioner.
  8. Thanks for the info, I did go to my local Skoda Dealer parts dept, the guy frowned at first but after a few minutes realised were the part was. He came back with a printed sheet and said Skoda only do the whole gear change (lever, mechanism in car and cables) as an assembly and costing in the region of £350. i have looked at fleabay and as you say I could be buying similar or even worse. I have managed to get new cable ends and adjusted the system. However I am now struggling to select 6th gear so may have more fettling to do. It is a shame someone doesn’t do a overhaul kit but I suppose there isn’t much demand.
  9. So plenty of views but no advice. i have since pulled the gearbox end of the selector and both cable ends aren’t great. I can get the right hand (looking in the engine bay) one but only from Germany, the left hand cable end is out of stock. however I cannot find anything for the remote gear change inside the car. I have tried Fleabay and Google, don’t really want to go to Dealer as would probably cost a fortune. I would appreciate any advice regarding what parts are available and possible sources. thank you.
  10. I have hopefully attached a video of the offending part, I was wondering if this can be bought online or would I have to go to a skoda dealer?? Thank you for your help. Gear Lever.MOV
