  1. Hi all, My Octavia 1999 model front passenger door does not open from inside nor outsid. The door lock is jammed/faulty. I managed to pull the door trim out partly to reach the cable, tried pulling out the cable to try and unlock the door but no go. I also tried using the key in the lock cylinder, the unlock lever pops up alright but still door doesnt open. The whole problem started when I operated the central lock button during driving for security reason. Now only that door does not open any more. Has anybody got an idea how to deal with this problem? any solutions would be highly appreciated! So desparate help needed please! Thanks very much for reading. Tfsi
  2. Hi all, I have leaking Aircon old evaporator, got a new one with part No. 1J0 820 103A. I will be sending this part abroad (car is not with me currently) by post. Please can any one with parts experience confirm if this part number will fit AC system (manual AC) for a 1999 model Octavia? Engine code: AGN/ .8L/92kw. I will appreciate any helpful inputs. Thank you all in advance! -TFSI
  3. I have a 1999 model octavia 1.8/20V 92kw engine. The engine vibrates as if one cylinder is not working. The problem happens only in the warm up phase after driving for about an hour. I smell petrol during cold start with some signs of backfiring/explosions in the exhaust pipe only in this cold start phase. No fault is registered in the ecu memory. I have done series of test including air leaks-non found. Temp sender replaced, fuel pressure checks done, airmass sensor replaced with new.Learnt values erased with VAS5051, throttle re-adapted. Still no go.Injectors seals checked-ok.Powers supply to ecu checked-12V ok. black Sooth found on spark plug tips and periodic poor acelerator response. I have high fuel consumption as well. Spark plugs changed but still no success. I would be happy if any of you experience guys could give me some tips on this issue/or if any one has experienced such problems before. Thanks. TFSI
