  1. Cheers Paul007. I have browsed that link. Guess i need to read it fully.
  2. Thanks for advice. I have tried a couple of cards and formatted them both to instructions found on the net. Seems strange its holding and playing some tracks.
  3. Haviing trouble playing tracks from SD card. I have copied 50 MP3 files onto to my SD card just to test and get the hang of the Bolero unit. However when l remove the SD card from my laptop and insert it into the bolero the bolero eventually says wrong format. When i return the SD card to the laptop the files are corrupted. With a lot of grief i have managed to get 23 of these tracks to play by process of elimination. However the tracks all have the same file format which is MP3 level 3. I have also run these tracks though an MP4 to MP3 converter software but still no joy. Any help much appreciated.
  4. Thanks Evan & Vectra, Havent tried re Balero yet. To be honest i never even thought of it. Was expecting to see the multichanger in the boot like my old Octavia. Thanks for advice.
  5. Have taken delivery yesterday of my new Octavia Elegance 1.4Tsi and was surprised to find that the cd multichanger has now been taken from the spec. Ordered the vehicle mid August using brochure 06/10 that stated Bolero radio and 6 cd multichanger were standard on the Elegance spec. Skoda appear to be in a no lose posistion regarding spec changes, think Skoda done the same a while back by removing the folding mirrors as standard. Shame the dealer didn't inform me though.
  6. Hi Jon 172, Many thanks for your detailed reply. Already i feel more confident to place my order & guess i will do tomorrow. Its a shame that the guys selling these motors don't know the full terms and conditions.
  7. Have visited 2 dealers this weekend one quoting 12 to 15 weeks for Octavia delivery and the other quoting 18 weeks. As we are now at the start of week 33 worse scenario case is I may not get delivery before year end. Next point is hows this going to affect the final price. One dealer says that delivery in 2011 would mean I would have to pay the difference between 17.5% and 20%. The other dealer says providing the car is ordered by September the 1st the extra VAT would be picked up by Skoda if delivery couldnt be made by 31/12/2010. I havent yet placed my order as i'm not sure whats the official position and also not sure I want to wait that long for my new car. Can anyone clarify please. Thanks.
  8. Had my 1.8TSI Elegance with Pegasus wheels and sports suspension since September 2007 (probably one of the first ones around). Its been a great car and as yet haven't received a speeding ticket lol. You will easily average 38mpg overall once run in, get it out of first gear and it will perform well. Only small niggles I have is Sometimes get misted up rear screen and the usual drivers door wind noise. Am sure you'll enjoy.
  9. Good choice. Personally having drove both cars i would of ordered exactly the same motor. Hope you dont have to wait forever to take delivery. ps...... from 2nd gear onwards for a 1.8 goes quite quick.
  10. I have the exact car with the sports suspension with pegasus wheels in elegance trim. The car does feel firmer when going over bumps and is slightly noisier maybe due to the bigger wheels however it does corner far superior to my previous elegance with standard wheels and suspension. Personally if i had a choice i would choose standard suspension due to our ****e UK roads. Overall though Nice nippy car.
  11. Been in possession of the 1.8TFI about a week now. Apart from the obvious power difference its just a little noisier and firmer ride then the 1.6 Fsi as it has the 17" Pegasus wheels with firmer suspension. However i have had a little fun with it with an acceleration sprint from 3 roundabouts with a Honda prelude (not sure how quick those cars are). Btw, just for interest to everyone i managed to get my next service free last Friday from Skoda UK as a goodwill gesture for all my problems with the 1.6Fsi. I thought that was a good result as they have been less than helpful overall with my probs.
  12. Hi all, I'm sure you guys will sort me out once again. I am being told by my dealer that octavias do not require radio codes. They say if you change the battery the radio will be fine as it memorizes the code. Just checking as i don't trust anything they tell me after all my hassle with them since October. Question arises as i have swapped my unsolvable over revving 1.6 Fsi elegance for the 1.8 Tsi elegance model and i'm sure i had a code for my 1.6. Thanks guys in advance.
  13. Well its finally crunch time. After 4 months of owning my over revving 1.6 FSI Elegance Octavia and with the dealer replacing lots of parts it appears to beyond repair so the dealer has offered to take it back in exchange for a 1.8T FSI Elegance. The deal is as follows My 57 reg Octavia Elegance in Cappacino 1.6 FSI, Maxidot, Multifunction steering wheel, and tyre pressure monitor. Oct 2007 with 2800 miles on the clock. Straight swop for 57 reg Standard Octavia Elegance in Storm Grey 1.8T 17 inch Pegasus wheels, Sept 2007 with 6,500 miles on the clock. Obviously the latter will be more to tax insurance and runnng costs. Only have till Monday to decide so would like all your views. Thanks.
  14. Thanks for your advice re What Car . The Car is back in dealers AGAIN for another few days but they have no idea what to do with it apart from look at the it. I have been in touch with my legal advisors who say i should type a letter giving them 7 days from tomorrow to fix the problem if its still not repaired tell them you want a full refund so i can go elsewhere and purchase a different make and model. This has been 4 months of hell. Worst motor experience ever for me.
