  1. eat healthy, plenty of exercise and we may both last long enough to see it finished 🤣 it's erm....ongoing
  2. thanks FeliciaHacker, managed to get a few bits from Osttimer.de sells quite a lot of useful stuff soworth a look.
  3. Hi all and thanks in advance. I am looking to replace all the rubbers on the bottom half of a 1.3 Skoda Rapid (i.e. trailing arm bushes, crossmembers, boots/gaiters, steering rack boots/ clamp rubbers) Can anyone advise if it is : A. Possible to source these parts and if so from where ? B. Are any of the rubbers generic and sourceable from a motor factors for instance ? C. Can other Skoda models (Felicia, Favorit) be a source for steering rack or any other bits ? D. Are poly bush kits available? E. What are peoples recommendations ?
  4. ok, I'll take it down - was putting it up in case someone wanted one. tried but i cant delete it :wonder:
  5. A bit long range but may be worth a punt if anyone wants a louvre. http://hooniverse.com/2013/11/12/hooniverse-marketplace-1986-skoda-rapid-with-parts-car/
  6. devon skoda sanctuary (iirc) http://s3.zetaboards.com/skodaforum/topic/7571517/1/#new
  7. Saved by someone from skoda-forum, think he may be prepared to offer them to someone else if they want to adopt them.
  8. had a chat with a bloke today. he has 2 rapids for sale which are in need of restoration (not sure what this means), would prefer if they were saved rather than being raped for parts or scrapped. They are 136 models I believe, 1 is maroon and 1 is black. No bodykit or louvres (i've already asked) located in Bideford Devon, advertised in june practical classics, I said I would post info on here to facilitate saving another couple of these cars. contact 01237 451351 (sensible hours) for details
  9. Thanks to Smudge at Clubgti for the guide below. http://www.clubgti.c...ad.php?t=129882 I tried this on a brake carrier and it just disolves the rust. Im going to be using this to sort out some of my rusty rapid bits and thought it may be of interest to folks on here.
  10. I was looking at a vw camper gearbox (commonly used for subaru conversions of beetles) and it looks chunkier in the casing (could be made to fit imo) and the gearshaft seems to come out at a higher point than a skoda box (but bar bent into a set of 2 90 degress could solve this). didn't have both sat beside each other but as you say looked simillar.
  11. I think autoplas with still sell you the fixing kets for £15-20 approx. They no longer have the mould for the louvres though.
  12. looking at putting a felicia into a rapid, the guide posted earlier in this thread lists the flywheel/ring gear as a part to swap across. I have looked at the felicia flywheel and compared it to the rapid one. Apart from the ring gear and slightly different profile of the rear side of flywheel to engine mating face they look the same. I have fitted up the rapid flywheel to the felicia block and it looks ok,(clearance and dimensions and has the correct rapid ring gear on it). is the rapid flywheel able to straight swap across like this as it appears to be ? if so this will save me having to heat and swap the rapid ring gear onto felica flywheel? if not, why ? thanks in advance.
  13. Just found this plan for making up a sheet metal bender online, and thought it might be handy and worth stickying or putting in FAQs. My link
  14. I have one that fits a rapid (It's not for sale!) from autoplas. As I beleive these are quite rare I was wondering what the process would be to take a mould of it so others could be made. Does anyone know the most cost effective way of doing this? If it is possible and cost effective it would enable me to get a spare made and perhaps others would benefit. Any information kindly received.
  15. engine ideas- alfa boxer engines subaru engines (250-300 bhp?) t25 transporter gearboxes
  16. Ian, dont worry i'll look after her. I had fun starting her this morning because i need to charge the battery up, and finding the balance between choke and throttle can be an art form:confused:. ive got a weber on the way so that should sort those problems out. i have some 15" empi's to put on her and have decided to keep her the same colour. the battleship grey is growing on me. i have a few mods on the horizon. clear coolant piping, 75deg thermostat, foam rubber on the bonnet underside avo springs electric fuel pump. now the days are getting longer and hopefully drier i should be able to give her the attention she deserves. once i start getting her together(not that she isnt already) i will take pics of her. i am taking her to the south coast skoda meet at marwell zoo so will get a few pictures of her there no doubt. starting to learn how to double declutch and find my way around the box:). i hope the estelle is running ok
  17. she went for mot today, a new tyre and a small bit of welding required. and i,ve a couple of bits to sort out, but overall a good condition car. bottom of the car is fine
  18. proud owner of battleship grey rapid. hi folks. where can i get engine bits for it? manifolds, cams, suspension etc?
  19. look at the spec of paul wyatts skoda on skodarapid.com 120ish iirc
