  1. Agree with the comments made. My thoughts are that if the discounts are stopped or withdrawn by Skoda then sales will take a further tumble and we all listen to the news and they are bad now. After discounts its difficult to get prices back up again. Suppose all manufactures will have this problem.
  2. I am still fussing about buying a new car but with 11 days to go for the vat free I am wondering whats going to happen to discounts. Are they going to stop or will other offers be available. With the economic climate manufactures are facing what will they do? So do we buy now or wait, what's the group thoughts on this?
  3. Looking for ambiente or elegance (not 4x4 or DSG or scout L&K) would like 2.0 but might settle for 1.9
  4. Hi all After a new octavia estate, like the 2.0 TDI model but I belive there is none left of the 08 range, vat free. Is anyone getting discounts on the 09 range? my local dealer is giving none.Might go for a 1.9 TDI but would like a 2.0 TDI or nearly new. So if any dealers are reading this please feel free to send a message, no part exchange.
  5. Hi I am after a Octavia Estate TDI not DSG or 4 x 4. As I tow a caravan a small one about a 1000 kilos I was wondering if the 1.9 will do the job or does the 2.0 TDI do it much better or a waste of money. Any one else tow a caravan with octavia estate, what's your experiances? thanks
  6. A few basic question on th octavia 2.0 TDI estate. 1. What's the fuel comsumption like as against the 1.9 TDI the official figures show not a big difference but whats it like in the real world. 2. The maxdot is that a trip computer. 3. I have a caravan so will be towing will that wreck the running in period Any comments appreciated
  7. Well it looks like 99% like the cruise control. My reason for asking is that I’m after an Octavia estate but I like most people want to keep the cost down and do not want a load of extras that you don’t use with the associated costs. So my thoughts are a classic with cruise control and central looking, no bothered about alloy wheels multi disc changers etc. Any comments? PS Also need a 13 pin electric and a tow bar as I have a caravan
  8. Is a cruise contro a good item to have or is it one of those items that is not used very much. The cost is about £180 not a fortune but still a reasonale amount. What do other uses think?
  9. Hi all might be in the market for a new octavia estate 1.9TDI might go for the elegance or the comfort but must have cruise control, towbar, 13 pin electrics, muli function steering wheel and metalic paint. I have a 2001 fabia 1,9 might part ex or sell private. The new 08 models you still get the vat off, does that apply to assessories as well? So if any brave soul has just bough and would be willing to give details (not expecting any) that would be great. As a thought if you get the vat off the new 08 models that should in theory lower the price on the old model:goodvibe:
  10. The skoda liverpool dealer has quoted £420 to fix my Skoda. It needs a new electrical contol unit, Skoda has updated this unit to include a new wiring loom (do not know how big or complex). The problem is my wipers and indicators will not work, its an 2001 estate so not worth much cash but its either fix or replace the car. Such is life
  11. :confused:Fabia 1.9 TDI year 2001 Came out yesterday morning started car wipers not working and indicater lights also. Relaced fuse and all ok, came out this morning and same problem replaced again , all ok. However I checked fuses I had taken out and they are ok. Any one any idea what could be wrong
  12. Hi all A load of coins dropped out my pocket and one went down the cig lighter now it wont work. I presume it has caused the fuse to blow. Can some kind soul tell me the correct fuse to replace. Skoda Fabia Comfort 1.9TDI estate year 2001. 81K miles and still going well
  13. Thank you Can you please give me a guide to replacing rear dampers
  14. How easy is it to fit rear dampers to my fabia estate as one damper is leaking, should I replace both? Thanks
