  1. It was the spark plugs causing the hesitation. All sorted. They said coil pack initially but after investigation that was fine.
  2. It's an 04. I might see f I can get the guys at Halfords Autocrntres take a look and mention what you have said. I'll at least be able to see if there are any fault codes for a start. Thanks for your help. ps I work for then so they should hopefully look after me.
  3. No warning lights so far nothing to read codes either though. It's ok just a bit annoying if it is s know issue I could guide the garage rather than them potentially taking me round the housed. Perhaps it is more of a hesitation for the revs to pick up.
  4. As in title any idea what this could be. It's a slight dip in the revs when I press the accelerator and a psst noise. Drives fine just annoying. Oh and by the way hi again not been in here for a while! Alex.

  6. i suggested a main agent, bt like you said bit more expensive, it seems to be sorted now, so not much we can do about it, shame as its ruined for him what is otherwise a superb and usually reliable car.
  7. I have had 3 differetn vRS's and bought helped my cousin buy one as I was sure it would be a dead cert for a reliable car, since then he has had a large clunk and black fumes etc, I told him it was probably a pipe come lose but the garage said it was a knakered turbo and that it had damaged the oil filter too, so £1,500 later and it still has the same problems, they then diagnose it as a possible lose pipe! He also had a little squeaking when pulling away etc, and the same garage said to replace the bushes, which he did, I had this on all three of mine and never replaced the bushes and it was fine. Then he has an intercooler pipe that is broken, £140 later and now he wants to swap the car. Its a low miler with full service history used by a dissabled person with only 60k miles on it and I think the garage have been screwing him over, he just wants to swap it now for something of a similar value. Is he unlucky or does the garage sound like they are taking him for a ride. It works fine now but he just doesnt trust it, and I am trying to convince him that he should keep it now as he has sorted all of the problems out! Any thoughts appreciated.
  8. My wifes cousin bought a Fabia Vrs recently 45,000 miles 2004 reg, and he lost power in the same way as described by the OP, initially he says there was no smoke, but he carried on driving it and now he says there is black smoke coming out the back end too! The garage have told him he needs a new oil filter and turbo and its gonna cost him £1,500!!! Thats seems steep to me and also could driving the car with a boost pip off cause the turbo to blow? Any help appreciated as he may have to sell it if he is facing a £1,500 bill.
  9. top ones you know it makes sence, im sure everyone will agree.... waits for agreement...

  13. Just to let you know, I have a black magic 56 plate (6 months old), 9k motorway miles, I'm a Surveyor, esp, heated seats, 6 cd changer, extra airbags, front pass airbag deactivation switch, xennons, pd160 intake, green filter, 17" alloys, Jabba sport remap which has completely gotten rid of the stutter which didnt really bother me when I had it.
  14. You may be able to lay around with photoshop easily with this side view, I cant do that stuff Im afraid.
  15. Called skoda to order a company car the other day and the official word is they have stopped taking orders and there is no new VRS in the pipeline!!! They only have what has already been built left to sell. My 6 month old fully speced bad boy isnt looking so bad now!!!
  16. It actually reviews it in a good way, saying its good value for money, octy vre not in there as its the hatchback category... i dont think anyone who reads max power will be in a rush to buy one... i think were safe!!
  17. Love the torque, hate the handling of it standard dont like understeer, love the torque steer (feels good) love motorway driving, loving the remap cant wait for the rear Anti roll bar to go on... love the mileage and the attention it still gets, love the seats, hate the squeaky dash, love the accelleration, hate it when I hit the rev limiter... and on and on.... but love the bits I hate cause thats just how it works, so over all I just love it!
  18. Did a search and couldn't find a thread on this. I saw a copy of this months Max Power and it had best bargains/cars to buy in 2007 and out of the hot hatches the Skoda Fabia vRS 2004 plate @ circa £9,000 came in first over 205 Gti seat leon FR nissan sunny gti-R, and some others... dont know how it was voted for but its nice for our little vRS's to get some good recognition... GET IN!
  19. I cant beleive there hasnt been any pics yet, lol above... pics please...

  21. When I had my smart car tuned in watford at red dot racing, the guys on the rolling road said and showed me figures of 4 standard vrs's before and after custom maps and not one was below 140bhp.
