  1. yes i had this done, i suspect it improved the fuel economy, no performance ( speed/ acceleration) effect taht i noticed
  2. hello DJthompson one other thing to consider is how did you lose the oil , it may have been burned in the engine or it may have leaked out. neither is terribly desirable but i have had two instances on my octavia rs of leaks , both from an inadequately tight oil filter cover ( dealer serviced car ! ) the filter is just below the front passenger side mounting bracket for the engine cover - might be worth having a look at that.
  3. Hello Folks has anyone here successfully connected a pioneer head unit ( i have a pioneer avicx1) to the offboard power amp in the octavia 2 ( with 12 speaker upgrade). I am having difficulty tracking down a lead that will link the two together. Autoleads did send one out to the fitter trying to do thsi for me but the ( at any rate first rev) autoleads lead did not work. Can anyone recommend a lead for this application? thanks in advance dod
  4. hello fireblade phil posibly not a useful reply but i had a couple of coilpacks fail on my 2001 and when it came back from the garage the light was clear and did not come back on again. how long was it clear after you got it back?
  5. Hello Briskodians I come with a question , I have a 2004 silver octavia vrs acquired new back in 2004 funnily enough to replace a 2001 octavia vrs acquired ( bit of a pattern here) in 2001. I am now think it is time for a radical change and as it is 2008 thinking of getting , you'll never guess a 2008 octavia vrs. i care a wee bit about the environment so am thinking of switching from petrol to diesel. I have heard that there have been some oil pump problems with the tdi pd 170 bhp engine - is that a very likely fault? i also want to get a removable tow hitch and considering a brink 452000 removabel , and their website says the bumper cut ( ulp) is invisible on a standard 2008 octy but hey do not knw what ind of a chop job they woudl need ot do on the different bumper on a 2008 vrs. Does nyone have experience of geting a discreet removable bumper fitted to a new Vrs. My 04 came with a neat ( invisible ) removable factory fit bumper but ( i know i am in the presence of experts here so i better be careful) i think that the 2004 rear bumper was standard profile. can anybody help me with my questions thanks in advance dod
