  1. Previously a 3 x Octavia owner I’ve been away from Skoda since 2023 while they've caught up with electric car revolution. I’m now considering an Elroq Sportline 85. Any thoughts about pros, cons, must haves and don't bothers would be welcome. The only cons I’m aware of so far are the price (if you want bells and whistles), the guarantee (only 3 years here but it seems to be 7 in Australia from what I’ve seen - rip off Britain?) and the fiddly air con controls. Thanks in advance for any replies.
  2. Yup, I was going to fit myself. The price quoted was for the part only. I have looked at OEM but I don't think this is 'like for like'. I was looking for a mirror which offered the same anti glare properties as the original. My problem is that I do suffer from visual 'flare' in bright lights at night so this facility is useful. I always appreciated that this might cost a bit more but I still think the asking price is completely unjustifiable. It really is gross profiteering, common across the industry, and needs to be called out. I don't really want the attention but I was considering going to a consumer affairs programme because I am completely incensed.
  3. Broke the passenger side mirror glass on my 2016 Octy 1.4 Tsi yesterday. The glass is anti-dazzle and has a heating element as well as the plastic clip arrangement on the back. I phoned my local dealer for a price on the glass only component and was quoted £299.40 !! Even the person I spoke with couldn't believe it. No matter how fancy the glass, heating element or plastic clip, this price is an outrageous and shameful ripoff and totally unjustified. I have emailed Skoda UK to express my outrage ! Shame on you Skoda!
