My yeti 170 tdi is 5yr old this month, has only done 38000 miles, I think the cam belt should be changed soon, what do others think bearing in mind the mileage

My friend is selling his 1.5 Karoq , owners of bigger Skoda have battery problems that take a month to replace. what is going on, I have had 8 new Skoda in 19 yrs never any problems, I don’t think I will be buying another Skoda. The customer service in Skoda Uk seems to going into free fall, they used to be so good

Just seen pictures of the new Octavia being launched later in year in Auto Express. It reminds me of latest Audi A6, supposed to be a move upmarket in quality of fit and finish. Very nice

How about fitting wheel arch liners The best investment you can fit to black betty cost about £75 Also painting the brake drums in black hammerite

Hi turboman There is fitting guide in technical guide section of site. The holes are already there but are covered by paper discs at factory and then undersealed. When you get the liners and adapters they have holes already drilled in liners. First you swap the black plastic caps in front of wheel arches the first hole is on that and if you offer up the liner in place and poke around with a small headed screwdriver you feel give where the holes are. These holes are square in shape so gently cut or scrape away the sealer. You then push in the insert plugs then srew in the Torx bolts. The liners and adapters have to be ordered from vw dealer apparently My dealer fitted them free of charge, they make a huge difference especially on wet roads but even in the dry it is quieter. The technical guide shows photos for fitting plus the part numbers Good luck

I got 1st Citigo in 2012 and painted drums with Hammerite black paint, after 2 years they were as good as new. Got another Citigo 4 weeks ago and painted drums straight away, also got wheel arch liners and it kills the noise of rain spray

The June issue Citigo brochure had convenience pack in but shortly after it was deleted on web site. I ordered my car on 8th July then about 3 weeks later noticed on web site that convenience pack was back on as an option. I went straight in to the dealers, the salesman did not know about it but the manager said there was a bulletin about it the previous day, so they did alteration to order. I received car on 17/10/14 after waiting 14 weeks and it had all options I had ordered. My car was built in week 34 and Continental tyres fitted were made in week 30 so car is very fresh. It was well worth £310 for sensors and cruise control FANTASTIC

I have fitted grey felt to boot sides. I got the felt from a local scrap yard. It was taken from rear seat backs from a Fabia. The I used cereal packet cardboard for a template, cut to size then glued in place It cuts down noise in conjunction with wheel arch liners kit. The back of car is very quiet especially in rain, it makes a big difference.

Emil maybe we get more rain in Scotland than you because all Citigo and Fabias brake drums here look rusty after a short time. No need for heat resistant paint. Maybe I do not use brakes hard enough.

The tornado red is faster and looks brilliant wth life shine. It's not quite as bright as carrida red. My son calls it a tomato on wheels but I don't care. Had to wait 14 weeks for mine with extras and now they can be ordered with dab radio, there's no justice

I had no problems with Garmin and Bluetooth till I put in an sd card, then had to select it from menu, took sd card out again and get fast Bluetooth connections again

I also have Thule bars, the front ones have pegs to locate when front doors opened. The rear ones do not have pegs and have to be measured so that they are equal distance from front ones . They are more aerodynamic than Skoda version and very quiet, mine are the aero models

Yes the Garmin is faster than Navigon , but I cannot get a female voice on sat nav directions like I did on Navigon. It is also much faster with Bluetooth it picks up music on phone quicker Also will speak text messages now

I find the headlights are very good as standard and I am on my 2nd Citigo. They are much better than 2009 Fabia I had.

I now have 75 bhp Citigo where the max power is at 6200rpm but it still red lines at 6000 just like 60 bhhp model

I bought first elegence 60 in July 12. Replaced it 4 weeks ago with elegence 75 plus entertainment pack and convenience pack, the new one is quieter than original this might be tyre brand change. I also got wheel arch liners fitted so it is much quieter in wet but also in dry, also fitted insulation matting on sides of boot. It really is as quiet as an octavia Painted brake drums with hamerite black paint, they don't rust now, did it on my last Citigo as well they looked like new after 2 years

Try painting brake drums and wheel arch liners. Looks great and quieter

Wheel arch liners are the best investment, even in dry conditions it is notably quieter.

I have painted drums with hamerite. Also did it on my last Citigo 2yrs ago. The big improvement is in the wheel arch liners, much quieter even on dry roads also covered inner arches inside boot, did it with grey felt from a scrapped Fabia so it won't get scratched either the grey is same colour as rear seat backs and looks original

Parts have to be ordered from vw dealers, I don't think they were Skoda sourced. 1S0 810 971 left hand side wheel arch liner 1S0 810 972 right hand side wheel arch liner 1S0 810 987 9b9 left hand lower adapter 1S0 810 988. 9b9 right hand lower adapter 4 x n 106 213 01 expanding nut 6 x n 908 338 01 expanding nut 14 x n 909 747 01hex socket head panel bolts Fitting instructions are linked through VW up wheel arch liners ( Google it )

I have just had wheel arch liners fitted. If it is the only upgrade you do it I will be the best £75 spent, it transforms the car on a wet day. PS to keep it looking good paint the rear brake drums in Hamerite black paint they look like new after 2 yrs

West End Garage Edinburgh supplied and fitted them. Cost is £68 for liners and adapters and £7 for fittings. The holes are already there covered in sealer so there is no drilling to do, or my friendly dealer would not have done the job. It transforms the car on wet days, I used to hear the water above 30mph but now it is quiet. I also have mud flaps front and rear. Also helping to make it quiet is lining the inner wheel arches in boot. I got a couple of gray felt panels from back seats of a Fabia from scrap yard, cut templates from a cornflake box then cut felt. It is the same both sides so I just reversed the template for other side, then fixed on with Eco stick the type that gives you a few minutes to adjust.

I got rear liners last week but the lad in dealers was not keen to poke around looking for holes even though I had given them instruction print out for UP model. They are taped over then sealer applied, so are invisible unless you know where to look. Went back to see group service manager who found 1st hole with liner held in place then found the others. I did not have the square hole plugs and bolts at the time but once they were delivered they were soon put in place. The parts are all listed on VW web site, not on Skoda site. Cost is £75 total for liners, adapters and fittings. They fit snugly round rear mud flaps. I have also got grey felt from the backs of a scrapped Fabia and have fitted to sides of inner wheel arches inside boot, this protects the Tornado paint and also gives sound deadening. It is very quiet now It is amazing the difference with liners and soundproofing

I collected liners today, my dealer was going to fit but they have changed their minds because the mounting holes could not be seen. The cost was £ 68 inc vat for liners and adapters. But Service manager is going to talk to a couple of people, I have faith in him to get it sorted. This is my second citigo, on my last model I got carpet tiles and cut them into sections then used hard as nails external to fix then a couple of coats of under seal. They had been on for 2 years and had made a big difference. I got my new car last week and following day it was wet and immediately noticed road spray. I also painted rear brake drums black with smooth rite paint, they were still perfect after 2 years. Don't know why vw group do not paint drums because they look shabby after a short while, It is the same on polo and Fabian.
