  1. The pipes on the eBay kits are probably ok, but I would replace the filter. I wouldn't trust that the filter included realy do it's job.
  2. You don't need to replace the crash bar on the Octy. Just remove the thin metall plate that's in the way for the IC hose. That's what I did since Forge doesn't ship the replacement bar outside UK. It's bloody heavy, and the shipping cost would be HUGE.
  3. Octavia has a transverse engine, the Audi A4 has not. Octavia, TT, Golf a.s.o. are the same in basics. The A4 and Passat are larger.
  4. My GPS is not 100-150m off, unless i go faster then 100mph. Everytime i switch it on, the possition is spot on.
  5. Do anyone know how much the stock fuel pump is able to flow @3 bar and @4bar? Is it the same as in Audi and Seat 1.8T 225bhp engines?
  6. That sounds good. I want to get every bhp i possibly can out of the stock turbo. I've worked a lot on flow, so i hope to be close to 250bhp, but anything above 240bhp is bonus. I have 253lb/ft already, so i hope i can find a little more torque. I also found how big the stock injectors are. 321ccm@3bar! Bosch nr 0280 156 061. With a fuel pressure raise to 4bar, the injectors are good for over 270bhp (95% duty cycle)!
  7. No, the digital mileometer is accurate. It's the speedometer needle who has the built in error. I don't know what it's called in english, but if you have the function to se your average mpg, current mpg, average speed a.s.o, you can check how much the speedo errors. Set the cruise control at let'sa say 60mph, then reset the avreage speed display. Lett the car run och cruise control for a mile, and check the average speed again. That's your actual speed. My average speed displayed is less then 1mph (0-1kmh) wrong compared to my TomTom GPS. With some margin, that's spot on.
  8. "UK based Quaife Engineering has launched a new version of its Automatic Torque Biasing (ATB) helical gear limited slip differential (LSD), for VAG models using the 02Q six speed manual transmission with the torquey TFSI 2.0-litre turbo engine. This includes the Mk5 Golf GTI, the new shape Audi TT and A3, plus the current SEAT Leon." I rest my case.
  9. A GPS is always more accurate. My Octy has a speedometre fault of +7-10kmh all the way.
  10. the Octy 17" spiders has 205/50 stock tires. 225/45 is the right size for those who want more grip, since that's excactly the same radius as the stock 205/55R16 the Octy vRS came with. The stock 17" tires are slightly bigger.
  11. The Quaiffe LSD is a torsen type differential.
  12. New exhausts are worth it if you're planing to get more then 250bhp in the end. Below that a simple remap, and maby another air filter, is all you need. However, the sound can be woth every penny.
  13. I've found this: (numer of injectors x injector flow [ccm] x duty cycle) / (0,5x10,2) = power (PS) Is this right? The stock injectors have to flow 287ccm on stock engine or else you won't get 180PS. Could i be that the formula is for power in kW, not PS?
  14. A torsen diff would help a lot. Just make shure you don't hit the car in front of you after you've installed it.
