  1. Hi, I have bought myself a new HU (Alpine ida-x100) and installed it into the proper skoda octy II facia adaptor (AZO 600 003) and linked up all of the relevant wires. Within the skoda kit a connector cables are supplied to fit between the Alpine HU cables and the cars cables. Coming out of this Skoda connector cable set is a wire to be connected to the fuse box, I've tried linking the new HU up without connecting this wire but it does not work. My situation is that I need to run the cable from the HU area through to the fuse box in the Octy II. This is where the questions begin , Is there an easy route I can run the cable from the HU to the fuse box? How do I fit the cable to the fuse box? Is the fuse box easy to remove, and how do I access it? Do I need to disconnect the battery and do I need to disconnect both terminals? Basically I'm searching for an idiots guide as I am not very electrically minded and I don't fancy folking out £30 to an audio guy just to connect one cable. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
  2. Is it worth upgrading from a '05 Stream HU to a '07 Stream MP3 HU?? is the sound quality that much better??
  3. Hey mistraller, did you finally get the aux to work?? When was your Octy registered? I've got a October 05 Octy with a Stream radio, the Aux settings are available as the Headunits mentioned above. Before I jump into this Project I want to make sure it is going to work once complete? Anyone else done this to an Octy from around October 05??
  4. A couple of questions, 1) The Alpine iDA-X001, from previous posts i have seen red and blue illuminations, but the question is can the display and buttons be changed to a green illumination?? 2) The majority of the adaptors out there seem to just have a large void below the HU and makes the dash apear a little odd (in my opinion) especially after you take out the stream stereo that fits so well. Does the large void look any better in person? Are there any other facia adaptors out there that incorporate a lid? Any photos would be spot on. Cheers.
  5. Just checked, the noise is definately coming from the corner of the car and is not due to overall road noise. Just to clarify, When the above posts mention a quarterlight, they mean the rear (smaller) section of window pane in the rear passenger doors? So Andy, are saying that it's the seal of this smaller window that needs to be replaced and not the larger openable seciton of window? Luckily the car is still under warranty.
  6. I have a wind noise coming from the rear off-side passenger area. It's not the window as the noise seems to be coming from further back. Is this the same problem you have mentioned above? Or are the noises you describing only in VRS's?? If it is the same, what work should I suggest to the dealer to get rid of the noise?? 55 Plate Ocy II 2.0TDI Elegance. Cheers.
  7. Booked a test drive for the Octavia 2.0 TDI during my lunch break. Came back a week later for the appointment and the guy was busy. I was left standing in the showroom for 30min with no appology or explaination. Finally i was attended to, they suggested I book another test drive which i turned down. I finally took my business to Bickerton Skoda in Sheffieldl who couldn't do enough. Shame on you D M Keith Leeds, watch out for the rude little bald man on the left hand side as you go in.
