  1. Speed warning ? if it has been previously set up at a low speed , every time you exceed that it will issue a warning...
  2. Unless there is a shortage of the other alloy types - I know that the paint options changed from the catalogue, a friend wanted storm blue , but was told told that it was discontinued and had petrol blue instead. Have you checked the background with Skoda UK?
  3. Unless Skoda have moved the goalposts , there should be a choice of three alloys on an Elegance outdoor - I have Matterhorns on mine,
  4. A friend and I both went to collect our Yetis on the same day from different salesmen at the same dealer - his salesman had said that the MDI cable was included , whereas mine told me that the cable was an extra at £29.50. My friend was sat at the desk behind me , and after his salesman had issued the cable for free , I asked mine why mine was chargeable. He disappeared out back , and lo and behold a free MDI cable appeared.... It's poor practice from Skoda really to charge £150 odd for an MDI interface which is then useless unless you pay extra for a cable - it would be more customer friendly if one cable was included (and you specify which connector is required) , and then any extras are chargeable ie if you change from an Ipod to a Samsung phone or similar.
  5. Thanks for the replies - as yet I haven't done the planned journey , so maybe that's why the distance hasn't updated.
  6. Hello all , I've had my Yeti for nearly a week now and am very pleased with it. Whilst pre-programming some destinations into the sat-nav , I've come across something which I think is just a limitation of the software: My folks live in France, and in the summer the car will be used to drive to their house, I've managed to use their postcode and find the address , however , the system gives the overall mileage from the UK as 428 , when in reality it is over 600 , the 428 being the approximate mileage from Calais. So , my question is , is it not possible to set-up an "international" journey using the sat-nav? ie do I have to set up one trip to the Channel Tunnel , then another from Calais to my destination in France. Many thanks
  7. Having a red Octavia didn't make it any more visible to the youth that turned right into me and wrote it off - Black Magic Yeti now on the way....
  8. Snap - also ordered a Yeti Elegance 2.0 Tdi 110 (Outdoor) from Listers Coventry at the start of December . Spoke to them this morning , he says build week 7 and they are looking at the beginning of march for delivery.
  9. Read the manual , I'm 90% sure that there is an option to change the display from KM/H to MP/H You have to go via the menu function on the Maxidot - remember not to do this whilst on the move or the car will tell you off!!
  10. I have a vRS LE with Bolero . I connected my Ipod via the AUX socket in the jumbo box. As far as I could see , you cannot control the Ipod via the Bolero...shame
  11. Strange. Car was started up this mornig - the fault light had gone out. Drove normally all day , later on , after leaving on the drive for a few hours , started the car again and no sign of the fault at all... Thanks for all the suggestions , I'll keep an eye on it and report any further issues should they occur (fingers crossed that they don't).
  12. Hi all , Apologies again for posting with an issue. I have an 06 plate VRS TFSI , 25k on the clock. I was away on holiday last week , got in the car this afternoon to drive home from the airport and do a few errands with no problems (as is usual). Then this evening , myself and the good lady were out for dinner , when the car was started the Exhaust Control System fault light has illuminated. After consulting the manual , we carried on driving - the car's performance showed no noticeable difference or "limp" mode. When I got home , I checked the fuses (just in case) , all are still intact. I've searched the threads on here but all those I've found refer to DIESEL models. Any pointers as to what could be the root cause here? Many thanks Rich
  13. This is the same as my car , BOTH rear tyres were worn in the same way , potholes & kerbs my ****!! Not a happy driver....
  14. Just to update , had a reply yesterday from Skoda UK , quoted below : " Thank you for your e-mail. I can advise that the wheel alignment of any motor vehicle may require adjustment from time to time as a result of the road wheels impacting with the kerb, road debris, pot holes, etc. Therefore, the cost of checking or adjusting the alignment cannot be considered a manufacturing or material defect, claimable under the warranty. I can confirm that we issued a service bulletin dated 22 November 2005 to our retailer network advising on alternative rear camber values to reduce rear tyre wear or noise with the Octavia A5 range, when appropriate. However, these suggested adjustments would not be covered by your vehicle’s New Vehicle Warranty as there is no inherent defect in the running gear itself. We suggest that you follow Prestige Garage’s advice to have a four wheel alignment check, carried out by a VW dealer with the necessary precision testing equipment, after which the Skoda retailer will be able to advise further. " Grrrr - I am fully aware that FRONT wheel alignment can be knocked out by potholes etc , but I find it hard to believe that BOTH rear suspension units would be done so that they both give uneven tyre wear :thumbdwn: This just smacks of a fob-off , it seems that Skoda are following the VAG customer service policy ie can't do enough for you when it comes to buying the car , but any problems and we'll wash our hands of you.
  15. Did the alignment check show that the rear camber was out? Did you have it set up to the revised Skoda settings? I've found a place local to me that specialises in performance cars and their setups , I plan on getting a quote from them to see how they compare to VW - I'm loathed to have to use VW as one of the reasons for getting a Skoda was dire customer service from ALL of my local VW dealerships , so I'm reluctant to give them any more of my cash.
