  1. Car gone. Sad times, but loving the Clio. Please close.
  2. Actually, I was lucky and got nearly £7300. I was surprised to be honest. The book price was £7010 but I got extra because of the condition. He was very happy with the condition.
  3. Only two days left before it goes. Just been out in it and it's a truly great car.
  4. Yeah, I'm amazed I've had hardly any interest. Either way, it's going on Thursday.
  5. Where are you based Wakey. Perhaps we could sort out something. Potentially, I don't mind meeting and getting a train home.
  6. Just put a deposit down on the Clio. This will be part-exd next Thursday if not sold. All offers considered.
  7. Well, my prediction was right. I loved the Clio and am tempted to part-ex the vRS. Any offers??
  8. Thanks, appreciate that. I'm sure I'll regret selling it.
  9. Open to decent offers on this. I'm test driving a Clio 200 tomorrow and I know I'm going to love it.
  10. For Sale is my 2009 Skoda Octavia vRS estate 2.0 Tsi petrol in silver. I have owned this car since new, having bought the car on 22nd Sep 2009. It is currently sat at 49350, this will go up slightly on a weekly basis. The car come with a full service history, paperwork for the work carried out below and two keys. The car was originally specified with rear parking sensors, maxi dot display, cruise control and an ipod connection in the glovebox. From new, the car has been looked after by a very trusted mechanic in the VAG circle. The company is called Volkscraft and is based in Exeter, Devon. I wouldn’t take the car anywhere else. It has been serviced, MOT’d and all modifications carried out by them. The car has never had normal unleaded in it and only run on V-Power/Nitro. Feel free to contact 'Matt' at Volkscraft, he knows the car very well indeed. It is in excellent condition inside and out with just a few minor marks, but has never seen a sponge and the paintwork has no swirl marks. The inside has never been smoked in and has never seen a pet. There are some age related marks here and there. A few stone chips and a light scratch on the drivers door that my daughter very nicely did with her bike. The Wheels have a few marks and to be perfect could do with a refurb, the worst one being the front nearside. However, due to the darker colour, the marks aren't really noticeable until up close. The boot has had an Autoform protector in from day one so is unmarked on the carpet. It also has a full size spare wheel rather than a can of gunk (this was an option on purchase). As stated, There are some modifications to improve this already fantastic car, these are as follows: Engine/Transmission: Reno Technic stage 2 map ( on 100 ron setting) producing around 290 bhp and 350 lb/ft (not been rolling roaded, this figure is from a VW Scirocco with the exact same mods.) Full turbo back Milltek Stainless steel exhaust. Resonated (no drone) and with sports cat so no MOT issues. ITG Maxogen carbon fibre intake. (Brand new filter fitted a few thousand miles ago) Bottom engine mount uprated. Audi TTRS short shifter. Sachs Organic Clutch to cope with the extra power/torque. Suspension: Eibach lowering suspension springs (lowers cars by only 20mm). Whiteline rear anti roll bar. Whiteline anti lift kit. Brakes: R32 front and rear callipers, powder coated red and with a Golf ‘R’ pad retainer. New discs/ pads. brake lines and fluid. Misc: Wheels professionally referred in anthracite and all wearing Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2’s (fronts on 3mm) 15mm rear hub centric spacers. Window tints from ‘B’ pilar back. Removable Westfalia towbar with fold down electrics that are fully coded with the rear sensors (totally invisible when not attached to the car and no cuts to bumper etc, was a factory option) Perhaps the most important modification of all is that this engine has been updated with the 4th and newest iteration of the Cam Chain tensioner. In 2014, my chain tensioner failed and initially I thought the engine had been ruined. I spent 10 months fighting Skoda Uk with a solicitor trying to get a new engine, this I subsequently lost. After that, the engine was full checked over and although the chain had slipped, it had only moved fractionally and there was zero damage to the pistons and valves. I was one of the few lucky ones. The chain was replaced with the newest version and the car started immediately, it drives absolutely perfectly. It has recently had a new MAF sensor fitted and the car was fully serviced yesterday including the injectors and MOT'd as well. As you can see, I have spent a small fortune turning the car into something much more special. It goes, handles and stops way way better than a standard car, and yet it hasn’t lost any of the practicability or ease of use. Its still just as sedate and easy to drive in town as a standard car and will easily produce 40mpg on a run. For those interested in the performance figures, it will now do 0-100 mph in under 13 seconds as compared to nearly 18 seconds in a standard car. I’ve owned Type R’s, Sti’s, Renaultsports, Gti’s etc etc and this Octavia has easily been the best overall car I’ve owned. I’m probably going to regret selling it, but want something a little more track focused I believe that considering the condition, mileage, and amount spent on modifications, the price is more than fair and the car is worth every penny, however, I am open to sensible offers. Please note, that the car was signed over into my wifes name a few years ago, so although I have always been the owner, the V5 technically shows 1 former keeper (myself). The other point to note is the service history, all though it is full, there is a gap between 2014 and 2015 where it spent nearly a year of the road. This was due to me fighting a lengthy legal battle with Skoda Uk as detailed above. Mileage wise, its had all the correct services. If required I can put on the exact dates and mileage. I am asking £8950 Thanks for looking and feel free to contact me on 07595039216 and ask for Nick. Below are some pictures and a youtube video I uploaded from one of the Briskoda Castle Combe sessions. https://youtu.be/cfI6voKvjug
  11. I used a grinder on my calipers before painting, only had to remove a little before they fit fine. Initially, with part worn pads they were OK, I noticed the issue when I fitted brand new ones.
  12. These are exactly the symptoms I had which stopped me going on track at Castle Combe. Turned out to be a faulty MAF, caused by a disintegrated filter. My own stupid fault for not checking it enough.
  13. Thanks for all the help today, gutted I didn't get on the track. Luckily I managed to get the car home and after some digging, found that the itg intake had disintegrated! Pretty sure that was it! This Olly should be home by now with the Westfield. Luckily had a contact with a recovery truck who was happy to help.
  14. I was one of the fortunate few who's tensioner failed but didn't destroy the engine. I was stupid to not get it replaced when I was made aware of the issue a year or two prior by Rob_e. I thought 'it won't happen to me', but it did and looking at the damaged part (ratchet teeth), the miles/service makes no difference. £500/600 for piece of mind or £5000 for a new engine. Easy choice I reckon. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  15. Sorry, I meant to type, 'might have to rethink about selling it'. I was all set to get rid as soon as it came back as it's already been replaced. However, I'm really attached to it and it's going to be hard to part with. Currently have a Santa Fe for family duties (which was the replacement), a Clio 182 for fun and now the vRS as well. I'm tempted to sell the Santa Fe and Clio and get a Subaru Forester Xt for family and Towing duties. I have a passion for Subarus, never driven a Forester though. Anyone? 16. Car home and crikey, I was totally blown away with how quick it was. I'd totally forgotten to be honest and might have to think about selling it. It's already been thoroughly washed and clayed. Ready for polishing on Monday. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  17. There's a copy in this thread somewhere. Provided direct from Skodas internal website. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  18. Just heard back from my mechanic. It's running and running well. Should be coming home for some much needed TLC tomorrow. Interestingly, he said the teeth on the old Tensioner are all missing, hence the fail. All get some pics up when I get it. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  19. Quick update. After struggling and failing to achieve anything with Solicitors (required more evidence than could be provided to give me a chance at court), I gave my mechanic the go-ahead to start looking at what damage had been done to the engine. I always suspected that it would possibly be minimal as the car was still running when the chain slipped. As it happens, I was correct. After examination, no damage to the pistons or valves. Annoyed that we waited so long, but that was what I was advised to do! So, the new chain/tensioner etc etc is going on this Thursday/Friday and fingers crossed, the car will be running fine. I'll keep you all posted, but as it's already been replaced, there might be a very tidy, low mileage, stage 2 combi up for sale soon. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  20. Not bad at all. As you were in a similar situation to me, I'd appreciate a few more details if you don't mind. They also told me that I'd had it serviced outside of the dealer network, but offered me nothing. Feel free to pm me. Thanks.
  21. Haha, that's Olly (ollymonkeynuts), the guy is a complete muppet, I'll get him to pm you his details.
