Hello all, I have a problem with my air-con (it's the Climatronic system) - the vast majority of the time it works fine, but we've noticed that on longer trips, it seems to stop working after an hour or two, i.e. the cabin seems to get warm and stuffy. I took it to Skoda to get it checked out, they couldn't find any diagnostic faults and the gas level was good - they suspected a "faulty air temp vent sensor", and it sounds like the only way to sort it out is to change the sensor and see what happens... Does anybody know anything about this sensor, and does it sound like the culprit?! How much is it likely to cost to replace? I would like to get it fixed, but not if it's going to cost a fortune, I'll just open the window Thanks, Richard.

True, but it might be that if it's a signal issue, it might have just been a glitch, and perhaps I'll not hear any more about it for another 6 months (crosses fingers)...! Although, it'll probably just re-appear immediately (or not clear as you say).

I could push for FOC and/or go the court route, but given the fact that they could have just told me to sod off altogether, I think I'll quit while I'm relatively ahead. Not sure what 50% labour will be, but it's going to cost a lot less than 100%

They aren't the supplying dealer - I'm in Swansea, I bought the car in Southampton and the last I heard, they went out of business!

Well, fair play to Skoda, they have offered me a good deal - because I've supplied them with the diagnostic report, they will waive the £78 diagnostic charge *if* the fault I've reported is still present in memory when they get the car. Also, due to the car's age (less than 60 months) they have offered to pay 100% parts and 50% labour - I really couldn't have asked for fairer than that

What's the situation with CR and DPF - do any CR engines have DPFs?

Hello all, Does anybody use the Skoda insurance? I'm tempted to switch from DirectLine, just wondering what people's thoughts on it are... I like the fact that my car would be repaired within the Skoda network, should I really care about this though!? Regards, Richard.

Is the spare wheel really that much different in size though? Granted it's a different wheel size, but the tyre is higher profile which will make up most if not all of the difference? I wouldn't worry about it personally, as long as it's the standard spare.
