  1. Sadly it is time to change my car and as Skoda scrapped the Roomster I am changing brands to a vw POLO WITH 1.2 TSI ENGINE. I will realy miss the Roomy as it was my second car and bluntly one of the most practical I have ever had. So goodbye Skoda
  2. thanks for all replies its been a problem since new sadly. will try the suggestions
  3. Hi all. I am having rather annoying problems with condensation on my 4 year old Roomster Scout in the mornings the sreen is covered with a lot of condensation and I use a Karcher window cleaner to soak it up as a cloth is not enough. And in freezing weather it turns to ice. Can anyone come up with a solution please
  4. sadly heard from Skoda UK that there are no plans for a Roomster Mark2, so it is the end of a very practical car, which means I shall have to look at another make
  5. I have been told today by a Skoda dealer that production of the Roomster ceased last week, so that's the end as apparently a replacement is not in the piepline
  6. yes my tyre size are 205/45 R16 83W
  7. Hi. Can anyone advise on new tyres for a 61 reg Roomster Scout 1.2tsi 105bhp. can the low profile tyres be swapped for normal tyres without affecting ride or insurance requirements, i.e. altered spec
  8. Looking recently at the Skoda UK website. it appears that the Roomster is now only available in two models i.e. Roomster S or Scout with almost no extras available. This suggests to me that the model is not going to be produced much longer.
  9. What a nightmare your roomie has been, I am on my second one now and my first car was the 1.9TDI engine which performed perfectly except that evry now and then the engine speeded up without touching the accelerater pedal, whic initially was scary but soon got used to it, main deal could not find anything wrong. Now on second car a 1.2TSI105BHP Scout. done 3500 miles when descending a steep hill I suddenly had two warning lights come on the traction control and tyre pressure lights, then I found I had no brakes unless I stood on the pedal, again scary, Skoda Assist found that the servo pipe had come disconnected from manifold, seem to run OK now but going in for a check on Monday.
  10. Having just come back home to mid sussex from dartmoor in my 6 month old 1.2 TSI 105BNP Roomster Scout when the car performed perfectly, we broke down today 2 miles from home. details as follows. I experienced a slight loss of power going up a hill then the traction control light came on together with a tyre warning light at the as I went over the summit I decided to slow down until I could find somewhere safe to pull over and found I had lost power on my brakes. fortunately I managed to stop on a verge, and called Skoda assist. they came out in about 30 minutes and found that the servo pipe had come off the engine, which apparently causes all sorts of problems, he fixed it in about 5 mins then took it for a test and now all seems to be OK. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem, the technician said he has had similar evnts on an Audi 1.4 and a Golf 1.4 TSI engine.
  11. Hi everyone,I wonder whether at 74 I am the oldest roomster owner, Like many other older drivers I have had a range of cars from a 1938 Morris 8 (my first car) to Honda CRV as well as large company cars. BUt now we are on our 2nd |Roomster this one is a Scout 1.2TSI 105BHP, the previous one was a 1.9 TDI sadly an engine no longer available. My wife persuaded me to buy our first roomie a 56 reg and again to change it for the current one a 61 reg. Of all the cars we have had this without doubt is the most practical car ever, and we would and have recommended Roomsters to several people and know for a fact that 2 bought them. We love them Andy
  12. Hi All, Well I did the change and bought a new Scout with thge 1.2 105bhp tsi engine and I am well impressed it has a terrific amount of power and the torque is pretty good too. I would recommend this engine to anyone
  13. Hi, I have just collected my brand new Roomster Scout with the 1.2TSI 105BHP manual engine very impressed with this engine, my old Roomie was a 1.9TDI which is agreat motor but the new diesels with DPF are not for me. I just hope that Skoda have sorted out the window control probelms, we shall see.
  14. Hi, Well having test driven the 1.2tsi 105ps and liked it I have ordered a new Scout with that engine so it's goodby deisel and back to petrol.
  15. Hi again, Front windows now fixed for the third time in 2 years on my 56 reg roomster. New control unit and motor fitted by local garage cost £222 a lot less than main agent would charge this is the second motor in just on 2 years.is it time to change car brand? I wonder
