Well folks, after owning four Skodas one after the other, I thought I'd have a change and try a hybrid, and as Skoda don't do one I've gone and chopped the Monte in for a similar aged Toyota Auris estate. I hope it is not a decision I regret. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and am extremely grateful to all those of you who have answered my questions. Thank you all. All done. Press "set-up" button on the top right of the unit, then "Factory Settings". Scroll down to "Telephone", and there it gives you the option to "Reset", press that and the phone and all its save numbers are deleted from the car. Jobs a goodun.

Hi, I'm about to trade in my Monte, could anyone tell me how to delete the phone numbers which are stored please?

@VRSbilly This is mine, it's on page 9, second one down the green 17 plate Monte. same as the '16 plate. Had it almost two years now and it has been almost faultless, only snag it has had was one of the windy windows in the back wouldn't come down, but sorted under guarantee in 10 minutes. Stop /start has been faultless, as has the speed limiter (no cruise control). Mpg has averaged 45, with mostly local work, but on a 300 ish miles round trip to East Yorkshire, keeping to speed limits, I got near as dammit 60 MPG. Would have liked one touch windows and cruise, horn is a bit poxy, and I've changed the headlight bulbs for Phillips Extreme Vision. I only wish I'd bought it four months earlier cos the car tax would have been £20, and not £140 All in all, very happy with it, an don't envisage changing it any time soon.

Yes, no problem, I just followed @nbramwel 's instuctions. The wiper arm was a bit stubborn coming off, but a broad blade screwdriver under the arm and a few taps with a nylon hammer sorted that without any damage. A couple of dabs of copper grease on the spline should help if it ever needs to come off again.

I think the wiper has been put on slightly high, because when in use, the blade goes onto the tailgate paintwork at the left hand side of the sweep. How does the arm come off so I can re-position it on the spline please?

Funny how 4 out of 5 of the bottom ranked makes are so called "prestige" marks. I'd let Dacia off as they are cheap and cheerful, but it's unforgiveable of the others. Joe Public is obviosly not getting what he paid for. Not good.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I've just got a 16 gig sd card for putting my music on for playing in the Monte. This is where my lack of knowledge kicked it when I realised that I needed something to attach the sd card to the computer. Been looking online for a suitable device and come up with many sd card readers ranging from a couple of quid to about fifty. Logic tells me I need a sd card "writer" 'cos that's what I need to do, to put the music on the sd card. So do readers actually write as well? If so, would someone kindly recommend a suitable item. Don't want to spend much as it is only going to be used very rarely as the 16gig card will take all my music. Many thanks.

Do I need to get the alarm chirp enabled with VCDS, or can I do it with the onboard "stuff"? Also, can the fog lights be reprogrammed to "corner"? TIA.

Yet another question please. Just rinsed, snowfoamed, rinsed, washed (two bucket with wash mitt, wheels seperate bucket.) rinsed, then dried with two mircofibre towels. It's going straight in the garage now, and will be polished tomorrow. Question;- can I just throw the mitt and m/f towels in the washing machine? TIA.
