  1. Just returned from the dealer. Approximate cost for the repairs (if nothing extra would come out, like damaged gear box) is 6000 euros and timing for about 1 month. Thanks to my insurance company who provided me with VW Golf V for 30 days
  2. Correct, but did you know that the full and precise name of that car's edition is: Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso special edition?
  3. now its dealer and insurance company business the fact is that the speed was about only 60 km/h, but my wife could not get out of the icy trails and the vrs made it's move towards the tree, hit it and made a sudden 360 turn. In that moment I as a rear passenger hit my head towards the rear door pilar. And now the doctors gave me one week off. Wife and the kid who were in front are ok. Interesting, but none of the air bags went off :wonder:
  4. Hi, wanted to share my last weekend's experience and show what happens when the vrs hits the tree :S Crash ... be safe !!!
  5. Hi, Does anybody have an idea how to replace the turn signal bulb below the side mirrors? Seems that there are no screws, just need to know which plastic part should be opened  Thanks
  6. Checked out my owner's manual - it says 120k kilometers. Asked my dealer - they say that timing belt should be checked at 90k kilometers and if needed - replaced, but normally at 120k kilometers.
  7. ... forgot to say that the wire connector (plug) for my octy's headlight unit is different from the one Mater had showed in his pictures and it took me some time to figure out how it should be disconected properly
  8. thanx man a lot found a pack of W5W bulbs at home and started the operation well, I've never imagined that changing parking lights could be so dificult, but I managed it, of course with the help of neighbour's surgeon scissors since I've not got long-nosed pliers. thanx again
  9. thanks folks from the Mater's overview with pictures I assume that regular lights have plastic back cover held by two metal clips, but xenons have the same clips plus at least two screws. this evening will try to "operate" my octy again sorry, had the question about the bulb itself - if I ask in the shop for W5W is it enough to get the right bulb?
  10. Hi, I've got defective front left parking light on my vRS. Thanx to the Briskoda member Mater's instructions I've pulled out the headlight unit, but I was not sure I want to unscrew the back cover of xenons where I suppose the parking light bulb would be. 1) Am I correct that I need to unscrew that cover to change the bulb? 2) Should be there any "click" after you reinstall the headlight unit and push back in that black hook? I have a feeling that the hook is not in it's right position. Thanx folks for your comments
  11. Hi folks, Last weekend had a dead battery and wanted to tow my vRS just a bit to get it started, but unfortunately could not remove the cover in the front grill where the loop is supposed to be screwed in. The owner's manual also didn't help, 'cause that operation is explained only about the regular octy :( Can anybody give a hint how it should be done properly with no damages and which side of the grill - right or left? Hope this thing on UK octys is on the same side Thanx a lot.
  12. .. about s.r. suffix, if it helps - spare brand is Dunlop Sport
  13. i've got 235/45/17 and the spare is 205/55/16, couldn't find the s.r. suffix.
