Ok fair enough, it does save any hassle - was interested !
-
Please could you advise if its at manual or automatic If its an auto, I'll take the car now based on your description. If its a manual I'm still very interested - I've PM'd you. Thanks
-
Agreed. The RS-Q3 isn't bad on power.
-
This also does away with the need to work out where to store the Adblue bottle
-
Totally agree with this - and it (obviously) applies equally to diesel or petrol. The Mk1 170 DSG diesel I had was absolutely flat out in Germany on a ski-ing trip at an indicated 125mph which was its claimed top speed. The Audi A4 Avant I had with the same engine and gearbox would eventually hit 140. The wheel arch gaps create a lot of drag let alone the Tonka toy stance that we all love !

Am I right in thinking that you also still get the Heated Windscreen as part of the L&K spec which will be very useful in the Lakes District !?

So, the dealer opened the bonnet and said it looks to be leaking from the timing case. Had it the day, stripped it down and completely re-sealed all the way round. Also replace the V belt as that was contaminated from the leak / sprayback. Basically not well-enough sealed at the factory (its a 15 reg) In answer to the question, definitely not an isolated case in their experience. Any road, these things happen and the dealer was great.

It's leaking from timing chain cover bolt - as suggested by Flapperjack7. Not enough torque or sealant at the factory ...
-
Thanks - if that's the left hand side (o/s/f) as you stand looking at the engine from the front, that could well be it ! Need a courtesy car so our Yeti goes in next week

Am I the only one who's had an oil leak then ?
-
Roadside Assistance - no fault found. Removed undertray and cleaned away the pool of oil which had been sprayed around by the fan belt. Only theory is that the car was topped up at some point before delivery - but this must have been very badly as the oil was nowhere near the filler cap ! Will be keeping a very close eye for more oil and will deliberately 'keep the revs up' for a few days. >> Pool of oil still collecting on the top of the undertray, so car is booked in to dealer

Feels and looks like oil - the transmission housing is on the other side ! I reckon it must be a high pressure pipe that's weeping so its coming out under pressure and leaving a spread of oil, even though the dipstick hasn't moved a lot. Skoda dealer here I come.
-
.. er, I know !
-
I agree - the car has done under 5000 miles...! :| Just wondered if there were any common issues on 2015 Yeti 1.2s

Just notice a load of oil on top of the engine undertray to the left of the engine as you look at the front of the car. My other half said the oil light had flash on a couple of times but I said "don't be daft, I check the oil level every weekend and its fine" The oil level is always near full in the two months we've had it, but its definitely oil. High pressure pipe ? Ideas ?

1.8T 150/180bhp differences?
Fabpreza replied to StripleR675's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
The engines are definitely the SAME apart from maps. I remember attending a Briskoda Jabbasport remap & rolling road day with my first 150bhp 4x4 along with several people with 180 vRS's. Mine was mapped to 222bhp which was exactly within the range of 218 -232bhp (from memory) that others got from their VRS's, and a couple had Milltek backboxes. My second 150bhp 4x4 had a Stage 1 Revo for convenience which I reckon (who knows) had somewhere between 200 and 210 bhp - with 170,000m on it just before I sold it in fine fettle ! -
Offers - will post if you will pay the postage as its heavy
