anybody bought a blue vRS from Rainsworth 07 reg
Stubax replied to Stubax's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
So nobody on here then!! -
Already checked the climate control fan fuse, its ok - the panel is working ok. The wires look too heavy to be supplied by the climate panel fuse, does it route via a relay?
-
Whilst fitting a power lead to a snooper on a 2009 MB C class c180K I coneected into the wrong wire and short circuited the interior fan circuit - Doh! stupid. Any how, I thought no porblem just change the fuse, trouble is the fan is not listed under the fuses, does anyone have access to a wiring diagram or now if it requires a relay? The handbook is next to useless and I have trawled the internet for info, hope you guys can help as your generally brilliant at this sort of thing:thumbup:

Rear washer jet not working
Stubax replied to andymcpherson24's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Pull the cover off the base of the wiper arm and pull the washer jet off (its a push fit), now try the washers and see if you get a vertical jet of water, if you do its the washer jet blocked. This has happened to me twice now and probing the jets (there are 2 of them) with a pin didnt clear them. It seems that if the washer is unused for a while the fluid solidifies meaning a good clear out is required. Obviously if you dont get the vertical water jet the pipe has probably become detached. -
Internet Explorer connection help needed (XP)
Stubax replied to Stubax's topic in The Technology Shed
Thanks for the suggestions guys, however nothing fixed the problem. In desperation I returned to Google and followed a trail which lead me to the answer which was updated router software, all now works fine after spending many hours trying to resolve this issue. The manufacturers website didnt help much either! -
Internet Explorer connection help needed (XP)
Stubax replied to Stubax's topic in The Technology Shed
Dont think problem is caused by hibernation as the system is switched off when not in use, I have checked the IP address's and it appears to be allocating them correctly, ie all 3 machines have different but consequtive nos. Seems (I think but Im no IT expert!) to be an internet explorer sharing issue, have found settings for this in Vista and Linux but cant find it in XP, that is the 'share internet connection' tick box. Thanks for the suggestions so far guys, please keep them coming -
Hi guys, Sure someone out there can help me:) I currently run a desktop PC via a wired LAN to a router (modem which is also wireless). The desktop PC runs internet explorer fine when no other PC's are connected to the router, however if any other wireless PC connects the desktop cant connect Internet explorer to the internet even tho it says its connected to the router, and I can connect to the router menu. When the other PC's disconnect the desktop PC is fine again. Have also tried running it wirelessly but get same problem. Dont think its a router issue as I can run 2 wireless laptops at the same time with no problems, they run Vista & Linux. Tried playing with Internet explorer and firwall settings but cant seem to fix the problem, very annoying when surfing and the kids turn on their PC as I am then left in limbo:confused:All microsoft updates are downloaded automatically and I run AGV anti virus.

Was thinking of changing my 07 vRS for a new diesel, however I was getting stupidly low quotes to px mine, when I questioned why I was told that the vRS is not even making bottom book (Glasses) in the trade:eek:. So, if you fancy a used vRS haggle hard and never pay the screen price:D

vRS Front Wheel Bearing - Garage or DIY
Stubax replied to Stubax's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks Lummox, have you any idea of bearing cost and how long the labour is to change at a dealers? -
Hi Guys, Slid into a kerb @10mph in the snow, now got a rumblig/droning noise occurring -especially on right hand bends. pretty sure its the wheel bearing as the wheel in question is stiffer to turn. Question is is it a DIY job or a garage job to replace the bearing?

Do we know when the improved sensor was fitted from?
-
Thanks for the comments guys, I have used Rainex and then MER rain treatments on the screen. Yesterday I gave the whole windscreen a good clean with Autoglym glass cleaner paying particular attention to the sensor area, cleaned this area 3 times!. Then retreated the screen with MER after I had put masking tape over the sensor area. Seems to be much better now, time will tell! Maybe there IS something about using screen treatments affecting the sensor, previously my wipers began ok but ended in Hurricane mode whatever the rainfall, even wiping a dry screen.

Is the sensor for the auto wipers located with the light sensor behind the mirror or is it electronic contacts elsewhere on the glass? The wipers were given a clean bill of health recently but Im still not happy with the way they operate, has anyone else had any issues with their sensitivity? anyone else had problems when using screen rain treatments?:(
