  1. Good it is finally sorted! Was affraid you already sold it as your first post was getting dated... What are the results? Can you put the graph on?
  2. If there is a mechanical problem chipped, there is gonna be a mechanical problem with the standard map. And for me it sounds this one had a problem... For non specialist or mechanics these are complex engines with all its sensors... Mine had 180 bhp before and 215 bhp after the chip which came in at 165.000 km...
  3. Are you sure? At a constant 70 mph the only thing "dumping" air should be the wastegate not the diverter of dumpvalve?
  4. Thanks! About 15% transmission loss, is as I thought it would be (15-18%).
  5. For those who had their car rolled: what kind of bhp did you get at the wheels? And what figure did that became as engine power? What kind of power has been measured on std K03S turbo's? With or without other mods such as intercoolers, downpipes, exhausts, cat, sportscat or no cat? Isn't cams on a std turbo being a bit early to change? Isn't that more suited for higher stages?
  6. Thanks guys! I was indeed talking about the Golf IV and Octavia I... The Golf V is actually being praised as being a big step up, making it closer to icons such as the Focus RS and previous Type-R's. I do read about Golfs IV getting stuff from other VAG models, I think it was the S3, TT, Leon Cupra R and R32 stuff. Maybe this is identical to the 4motion stuff mentioned earlier in this thread? I have also heard S3 "upgrades" in the front suspension on Golf IV's. I don't think the S3 stuff is standard on the Octavia as the trackwidth is identical to all other FWD. Funny enough the Cupra R is also the same width, and I've heard this is the upgraded front also... S3 (210/225) / TT (225): 1.53 front / 1.50 rear TT (180) 1.53 front / 1.51 rear / 2.44 wheelbase Octavia RS / Leon Cupra R / Golf GTI edition / Golf R32: 1.51 front / 1.49 rear / 2.51 wheelbase Wheelbase: S3 (210/225) 2.52 TT (225) 2.43 wheelbase TT (180) 2.44 Octavia RS 2.51 Leon Cupra R 2.51 Leon Cupra 4 2.51 Golf GTI Edition 2.51 Golf R32 2.52
  7. I've read a lot about the Golf GTI Edition and I noticed how much this was critisized for not only it's poor handling, but also for it's understeer and flex in the chassis. So I was wondering: did Skoda do a better job? Stiffer chassis, more comfort but crispier handling? Ps. If there is writing regarding a stiff chassis in English, do they mean the spring, damper and ARB rating. Or are they talking about the body? The Dutch word for body is chassis, that's why I am asking.
  8. Yes but for the first time in history this cars can be seen in the UK... That's in 2008!
  9. It became champion in 2006 and 2007! Both of his Fabia's are now in the hands of 2 Belgium drivers and they are coming to Lydden Hill this Easter! So now you can see them for your self! Even through the 45mm restrictor it pumps out wel over 500 bhp / 700 Nm...
  10. New members that use the search function maybe...
  11. Are there any pics of the RS running pr standing on 225/45 17's? Ps. to bad tyres don't use motorsport sizing (width / diameter tyre / diameter wheel): we could than also have a 215 with exactly the same diameter a 205, 225, 235, 245 (or actually 200, 210, etc)
  12. It is a bit strange: The Awesome rolling road figures, some have only about 8-10% transmission loss, which could explain why some say: "that crank figures is not a big gain over standard". But the wheel figures seems right. Mine had 180 bhp at the wheels (and 150 before remap). But unfortunately we couldn't measure the loss. But I asumed it had to be over 210 bhp at least. That's with 15% loss. In the past with my previous cars I have seen higher readings, like up to 20%
  13. I disagree... We are not the Germans... On FWD (or front heavy 4x4) cars you put the wider wheels up front! It may look **** though... But that's how the trackday boys or racers would do it. For example: MTM made special wings for wider front wheels on the Audi S2, just to reduce understeer... There are also Gallardo's fitted with wider front wings to accomodate wider front wheels (still not as wide as the rear, but this car is heavy mid/rear balanced...)...
