  1. Cheers for the info, it started off intermittently and is now permanent. Car is about 8years old with over 100k. MOT due in December and the second change of the cam belt, so I need to decide what to do. Love the car, but finances are grim at the minute.
  2. Hi. My rear drivers door will not unlock, would this be a cause to fail an MOT? All of the other doors, the door pin will pop up and they unlock, the faulty one doesn't. From the inside, you pull the handle, it raises the door pin but the door won't open. I believe the cause was the water ingress issue. Any thoughts welcome. (ps - apologies if any rules have been broken, I have posted this within another member's question without reply) Superb Edition 100. Thanks
  3. Hi Robelia, Can't help you with your problems mate, but after my water ingress problem I have been left unable to unlock my rear driver's door, the window still works. I will watch this thread to see if anyone else can help. My question to the thread is will this door not opening cause an MOT failure? Thanks Wooly
  4. Thanks for replying. No, following a horror story from brother in law about refitting, was put off. I removed a hell of a lot of water. Wet vacced it several times and still sodden. How big is the void underneath?
  5. cont'd... Removed about half a litre of water from underneath my battery - suctioned out. Wet vac all of the water from the rear driver's side footwell. Check all around to see if any where else is wet and notice nothing. Footwell carpet still damp, but no visible signs of water. Go for a quick spin in dry sunny conditions and the rear footwell is sodden again!! Please- any thoughts?
  6. Hey, Superb Edition 100 - 100000 miles and now have water ingress, however, it's the REAR DRIVER side footwell. Even more confusing is the water is pooling towards the middle of the car?? Door seals all seem fine and nothing obvious. All comments/help welcome.
  7. Will do. Yeah recently had to replace the drivers side and one of the back windows went a few months ago - really naff looking design. Thanks
  8. Hi, Normally around 50mph my Superb suffers from a really irritating whistling noise from the front passenger window. Put window down and the whistle gets worse. Window down more and the noise goes. So, is there an easy way to sort this? It is driving me even more bonkers than usual!! Thanks
  9. Hello. Heard a horrible grinding noise when pressing front driver's window button. Have investigated as much as I can or dare. The cable looks a little rusted and has snapped - arrrggghhh. Is this a Diy job for a novice or should I get it into someone that knows what they are doing? Couldn't upload pics, sorry. Any comments appreciated. Thanks
  10. LE4 here too. Eyes always peeled for anything Skoda, especially the nice silver Octavia VRS's with the reddy orange stripes and blue lights ..... they look awesome.
  11. Thanks for that, will give it a go and try and get some polish on afterwards.
  12. Hello, Have searched and searched. Just getting into detailing (everyone thinks I am sad and mad). Am looking for tips to clean and protect around my doors and particular the hard to reach hinges and fittings on the interior front doors. They get so "cacked" up. Many Thanks.
  13. Front wiper blades - just switched to Valeo Silencio flat blades from speeding.co.uk and although expensive, they are absolutely brilliant. Well worth the dosh and keep telling myself I'm using less windscreen washer so they are worth it
