  1. The steering was heavy before the seal went, at least 18 months before (when I bought the car) proper fluid was used as recommended by a Skoda dealer, I can't think of any reason for it to be heavier. The hotter the weather the heavier the steering is. I wonder if it is dry linkages or something similar. If only I could get to them hmm
  2. I don't think it has ever been altered before though so I think its more a mechanical issue. Is it possible for any linkages to get tight or possible steering rack issue? On full lock the pump makes a slight hissing noise is this normal?
  3. Evening/morning all, I've owned my Fabia vRS for almost 4 years, it has always had heavy steering and never really considered having it checked out. A couple years ago I lost all power steering because an o-ring had split on the pump so replaced that and topped up the fluid. The fluid level hasn't dropped so I'm assuming there are no leaks. What would be the reason for the heavy steering?
  4. I hope you were joking Makes me want a silver car so you can 'carefully' remove them and send them to me Hehe, I'll get the stuff together next weekend and remove them, fingers crossed any marks polish out
  5. I think it's about time I remove the decals from my car, I'm bored with the look of it now I wouldn't have paid for the decals myself but they were already on the car when I purchased it! If I was to get them removed, do you think marks will be left on the paint work? Or will it look as if it never had them on there in the first place? Sorry I couldn't explain what I meant properly, I'm tired and can't think straight :P Here's the car if you want to have a look. As you can see, the decals are fairly large and I don't want marks left on the car when they are removed! http://briskoda.net/briskoda-members-cars/skoda-fabia-1-4-16v-sport-05-a/119068/
  6. I've been looking around for a decent exhaust for my 05' Fabia 1.4 Sport. I've kinda given up looking, it amazed me how much they cost! I found a good one for £400, excluding labour! Does any one know of any aftermarket exhausts at a good price that fit nicely onto the Furby? I appreciate the help Thanks in advance guys!
  7. Looks great matey! I love the red furby, looks good with that black grille surround too! Oh great, I can get one for 1800 a year on insurance now! Oh wait? That's bad! Haha, I'll stick to my furby for now
  8. Listen to mine when it only had the Pipercross induction kit on it, I will try to get a vid of it without the middlebox too. YouTube - Skoda Fabia 1.4 16v Sport Pipercross Induction Kit
  9. I see thanks for the information. I have 205/40/ZR17 so it must just be because the wheels are heavier. Mind you, they were designed for the Octy to sit on so it wouldn't really matter too much if they were slightly heavy because it has the power to compensate.
  10. Nice mate, thank you I will look for my nearest scrappy and have a look next time I'm off work. Will check with my local dealer tomorrow for pins and pedals. I'm glad you like my car also It sounds nice without the middle box, not like some cars I know, they sound really tinny and rattly (if you get what I mean). Maybe I'll make a video showing it off as well as taking some more pictures.
  11. Thanks for the reply's. I tend to get quite a few looks from other road users. I need to get my calipers painted green, the springs are green and it really looks good. I'd quite like to know where you get the chrome door pins and TT pedals though if any one could help me!
  12. Hello, I bought a Fabia Sport 4 or 5 months ago as my second car. Although the power isn't great I love the car. It looks good and is really nice to drive. So far the mods I have done to the car are as follows, - Side decals - Rear window decals - Dark rear half tint - Light front tint - Medium sun strip tint - Pipercross Induction - Middle box removed and replaced with strait pipe - 17" vRS alloys - Lowered 35mm on Stiff Sports springs Let me know what you think, and what else I can do as far as modding goes. I have two questions I hope someone won't mind answering. 1. I haven't got speakers in the rear, what ones do you recommend and are they easy to install? 2. When I changed the wheels I noticed a difference in the gears, could the new sized wheels have changed the gear ratios and if so is it expensive to have them set back to how they should be? Also in the pictures are Octy L&K and Fabia vRS (180bhp) Here are some pictures, I may update them in the near future
  13. I emailed Skoda and this is the reply I received. "I have spoken to our Technical Support department and I can confirm that it is not possible to modify the engine to increase the BHP of your vehicle, due to the complex nature of the internal mechanical components" So theres my answer, without changing internals, 100BHP isn't a possibility :thumbdwn: I have got a Pipercross Intake on the way from my local Halfords and a local garage told me they can get in contact with Blueflame for an exhaust system. Never mind, from the other thread that was linked the 75Bhp engine is actually quicker in lower revs.. That's good enough for me as I don't go much past 80Mph on the motorway any way :P
  14. I have recently purchased the Skoda Fabia 1.4 16v Sport (75Bhp). The question may sound silly but what is the difference between the 75Bhp 1.4 16v engine and the 100Bhp 1.4 16v engine? If it is only the ECU, can the 75Bhp chip be replaced with a 100Bhp chip? If this is possible, what would be a respectable price for such a mod? I also need to know whether the Green Panel filter will fit my engine, my plan is to fit a panel filter and run a length of induction hosing to force cold air into the engine. Do you think this is a more worthwhile idea than buying an Induction Kit? Thanks in advance Ooo Eye-Candy for any one that wants to look at my investment 17" Octy wheels with Eagle F1s on front (Rears from the Octy, fronts were bald) - £120 :P Rear half window tint - £180
  15. Ohh, I see I will give it another try tomorrow (I haven't got my car at the moment, the garage has it and I've got an '07 Fabia 1 as a courtesy car ) Thanks a lot, if I'm having trouble I'll be sure to ask for more direct instructions (Although "Just pull upwards" seems pretty strait forward :P) Thanks again
  16. Hello, I have been having trouble removing the engine cover on my car. I don't have a clue how to do it. I am just wondering if there are any diagrams or tutorial like instructions that will explain how to remove the engine cover. The reason I want to remove it is that I need to get to the air filter. Thanks
  17. I am not worried about "sucking" noises or horsepower reduction or increases, the reason I want an induction kit is because they have a larger surface area and are less restricted to air flow than the standard panel filters. The improved air intake gives the throttle a better response, this is what I want to achieve because on the 1.4 to pull away nicely you have to get a good few thousand revs which I don't particularly like doing. I don't mind "wasting" money on a car I am going to have for the best part of 3-4 years. Thanks for the concern and information though
  18. I have just brought myself a Skoda Fabia Sport 1.4 16v 75bhp (2005) and I am wondering whether I can get hold of an Induction kit for it, if I can, I would like K&N induction kit. I have seen the Pipercross Induction kit but it doesn't really appeal to me all that much. Can someone tell me where I can buy them? If I can't get a nice induction Kit, what panel filter do you recommend? Thanks in advance
  19. I have been looking for differences between the two etc, and looking for a nice induction kit, the only one I can find is the Pipercross kit, it is 69.50 which I guess isn't bad. It will increase HP, Torque throttle response and give it a nice sporty sound. The power increase won't be much but rolling road tests estimate them at around 3-5bhp. Torque is the main increase. Other than an induction kit, I should start looking for strait through pipes. Thing is, I don't want the car to attract unwanted attention (If you know what I mean ) I look forward to modding it in the future and I will defo keep every one informed on my progress.
  20. Does any one know if a K&N Air induction Kit is actually available for a 1.4 16v engine? I can find Pipercross kits but I am not too sure of the way they look. Thanks for the help.
  21. I think I will get either a panel filter or a K&N induction kit, if they actually make one for my car. I would like to keep the decals on the car as it makes it more 'unique' which is what I am trying to achieve more than any thing. Will the Seat Leon Cupra R front splitter fit on this car? The front spoiler is similar to a vRS (I know this because I compared it to my dad's car) I will look for a nice set of lightweight alloys. I don't want to be rid of the seats etc because they may come in handy :P I was quite surprised at how well it picks up for a 75bhp 1.4 engine. It does seem a bit happy but I was cruising down the M2 at 75-80Mph in 5th gear and it was reading at 37-42MPG (Which was great I think) I am going to have another look at it tonight because I can't pick it up until Friday because the garage is going to do a full service, 1yr tax and clean it all up for me As for the ECU upgrade, if that is an option, I will definitely consider this as an option. If someone could find this out for me, I will be very grateful. Thanks for all the suggestions so far.
  22. All my dad has kept on saying to me since I came home from the garage is.. Find some vRS alloys (I want Octavia ones hehe) We asked at the garage and they said they are about £180 per wheel  (New of course) I am going to order the K&N 57i induction kit, I just want to make sure that it will be fine on a newish engine? Thanks for the help mates
  23. Hello mate, thanks Are there any mods you can recommend? I am looking at K&N induction kits and Pipercross, what one would you say is better?
  24. I have just brought an '05 plated Fabia Sport, it has only done 4,700miles.... No really! I was just wondering what mods are available for the engine, I believe it has 75bhp and the car seems a little rev happy. I understand that the engine should be broken in before any mods should be applied, but I just want ideas for the future. Here is a picture of it for any one that wants to help me make it a better car All I need to do to the exterior is black out the windows and it's without a doubt a keeper I'm happy now haha
