Well, it's been some years since I waved farewell to my beloved MkII vRS Octavia and now my daughter has well and truly outgrown my wife's i10 and back on the verge of Skoda ownership again. I'm hoping to strike a deal with DM Keith's in the next few days on MY15, 1.2 DSG Yeti. Let's hope things go well!

Pre-FL Octavia RS Electrical Issues
willskoda replied to Jake02's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
When I had an electrical gremlim with my Lexus I gave the battery a full charge. No problems after that. Might be worth checking it? -
They didn't tell you because either they don't know or they don't want you know!

My Lexus is not a barge... I prefer to think of it as an ocean liner!

The three of us can get our heads together when I get my new LS430 - going to need dark paint advise no doubt - just have to buy it first!

Newbie question - What is Maxidot?
willskoda replied to mikeydee's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
2008 didn't have cruise until right at the end. -
This forum being as good as it is I wondered if anyone could help. I need the mileage correcting on my 1996 Lexus' speedo after I broke the old one. Does anyone have the skills or can anyone recommend a company in West Yorkshire that carries out this procedure?
-
Got introduced to a new technique re this issue today - thinners! I wasn't convinced but when I got home today I took a mf cloth and some thinners to my 1996 Lexus' steering wheel which was very shiny indeed and now it has a much duller tone and doesn't slip through the hands. Much better.

It's in good condition - sorry! Just liked that leather!

LPG CONVERT OCTAVIA VRS 06 REG
willskoda replied to HC1001's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I have an LS400 which is LPG powered - I filled up on the Holland/Belgium border and made it to Pudsey, Leeds on that tank (£46!! - LPG is cheaper in Belgium). A company called Leeds LPG is highly rated on the Lexus forums and convert a 4 cyclinder for £899 in one day with a premium kit. They hide the gas connector in you current fuel flap too so no nasty filler cut into the side of your car. A trip to Prague and back cost us (including petrol - of which we used half a tank - mainly through choice) cost us just less than £300. LPG is half the cost of petro, (65.9p at my local Morrisons) you'll get very similar economy (this does vary - our Lexus was better on gas than petrol strangely). If you're going to keep the car more than a year then I reckon it's a good choice to make. I'd certainly consider it for any of my future cars. Mine has the Prinns system which swithces to gas after about 3 or 4 minutes and as long as it's warm it will continue to fire up on LPG every time you stop. -
Out of interest can the 2.0 TFSI be converted to LPG?

Doesn't work with the parking sensors though. You still hear the noise though. I don't miss the display. I really like my MFD2.

Yes, I have one in my 2008
