  1. So this morning I got in my car, not frozen but cold. Started it and the display was showing the convenience consumers and the windscreen heating was on! I hadn't pressed the button and it wasn't lit. It was showing 5 degrees outside. I couldn't tell if it did anything as it wasn't frozen. I've never had a heated windscreen before. Can you feel if it gets warm or not? It didn't feel warm to my hand.
  2. I've got it on mine. Picked it up yesterday. Chuffed so far. I haven't noticed it doing anything yet.
  3. Okay.......Big slice of humble pie about to be eaten! So, I phoned my dealer today to register my disappointment at the situation only to be informed that he had gone on holiday. It turns out that the guy who actually very kindly took the pictures of my car for me, had inadvertently had his camera on black and white and the stitching that looks grey....is in fact red!!! I feel like a bit of a fool to get so worked up without finding out the facts first. In my defence, the pictures don't really look black and white and I was trying to work out what my response was going to be BEFORE going to the dealer and complaining. Here are the pictures so you can judge for yourself just how foolish I was! As you can see, the wheel and stitching definitely looks grey!
  4. As has been said a myriad of times now, I'm not going to reject the car over something this small. I know it's not as if the car's a different colour. I'm also not expecting anything huge in compensation. I just thought it might be worth trying to be a bit cheeky and ask for some winters but if not I'd laugh and accept a boot mat or something. It's just a bit galling as it's not what I ordered and I've waited ages.
  5. I know the Winter tyres would be very cheeky of me as it is a no cost option but surely it's worth a go. You don't ask, you don't get and all that. I definitely won't reject the car but will push for something.
  6. Thanks everyone. I think that you're right. At the end of the day it is just some stitching (which still looks good! Just not quite as good). I'll show them the order form and try and maybe push for some winter tyres? Worth a shot.
  7. That's kind of along the lines that I'm thinking. It does specify red stitching on the form but I think I might explode if I have to wait for another one and I don't think I could bring myself to reject a car over the stitching. It will annoy me though so what do you think I should push for. (Apart from his first born)
  8. Sorry, meant 'fare better'. Stupid iphone.
  9. I am a bit wary of rejecting the car because I know I won't be able to get the heated screen again and I'm pretty chuffed that it's managed to get through the system. It's a good idea about the seats off a demo car, however the stealer is a fair way from me (as they gave me a good discount) so don't really want to be traipsing back and forth. Is it likely that they would do that anyway? Or am I going to care better pushing for some kind of goodwill, eg extended warranty? Not sure if I'm on the right lines or not.
  10. Sorry for this, I'm just not sure what to do here, my vRS Tsi manual estate is at the dealers and I'm going to pick it up on Friday. As you can imagine I'm extremely excited and can't wait. So I asked my dealer to send me some photos of the car which he very kindly did. The car looks great, it's Candy White (seems to be the way) with Amundsen, colour maxi-dot, cruise, black pack, Bluetooth plus, simply clever, matsumi, heated seats, heated screen and nozzles. (After calling to say that it wasn't available with these options, He called to say that it was showing as being built with the two options. We shall see when I pick it up). I ordered the RED stitching for the seats to go with the white and from the pictures he's sent it it's turned up with the grey stitching. Not a deal breaker I know, but it's still not what I wanted. What do people think I can do?
  11. I was wondering if anyone knew of any detailers near Oswestry in Shropshire. I had a quick look on Detailing World and I couldn't find a list. I really don't want my dealer to go at the car and I'm a novice (more of a cleaner than a detailer) so any help would be much appreciated. On a separate note, my car has been built (White Vrs Estate Tsi) and is about to be shipped which is great. My dealer phoned me a couple of weeks ago and told me that I couldn't have the Heated windscreen on nozzles that I'd specced. I've been a lurker for a while so was expecting this. It made my monthlys cheaper so hey! Then he rings yesterday to say that on the build form it says that I still have the heated windscreen and nozzles so he's expecting that they will be on the car!!!! Happy days!! :sun:
  12. I reckon with the prices of petrol and diesel being pretty much the same at the moment, the vRS is such fun to drive that I'd go for it. The other cars are all great to drive but as you say much more expensive to run.
  13. Thanks Steve, So I gave them a ring and asked them about it and the guy said that the more expensive ones had just been delivered and were a new version of the tyre. Both of them have the reinforced sidewall but I can't find any mention of a new version on Toyo's website. Strange. Chris.
  14. Hey everyone. Thanks for helping. Nice to know its not just me being stupid. When I do get some, in case anyone else is looking I've found a code for a 10% discount as well. Just put FVT10 into the voucher code bit at checkout. That makes the toyos about £63 per corner fully fitted. Brilliant price. Thanks for helpng everyone.
  15. Hi all, I'm looking at getting a set of toyo's for the vrs and have been looking around. valuetyres.co.uk seem to be doing the Toyo T1-R 87W 205/45 R16W for £69.54 a corner which sounds good fully fitted. But my dilemma is that they are also doing Toyo PXT1-R 87W 205/45 R16W for £92.10 a corner and I'll be damned if I know what the difference is!! Help please. Thanks
  16. Just used them for the first time for the service on my 04 Fabia vRS. Can't recommend them highly enough. Fast, friendly and they really know their stuff. I went here after reading the reviews on Briskoda and wont be going anywhere else.
  17. Hey JP, Nice to see you're on brisky. Our house is now a vRS stronghold!!! Bring on the trumpets!
  18. Hi Everyone, I bought an '04 red Fabia vRS about a week ago and I haven't been able to stop smiling since. I've never had so much fun in a car. I've been reading through briskoda and was just wondering what the best way is to start modifying my car as I've never done anything like this before? Is there a certain order in which you should do things? Hello and Thanks bunnchris.
