  1. Hi All, Over the last week or so I've noticed the familiar clicking sound emanating from the left front wheel in my Octavia II and I went to the dealer to have it checked. Sure enough, it was the CV joint that was required to be replaced. The estimate I got from the dealer is Rs. 28000 INR which roughly is about 350 pounds plus labour and taxes for each CV joint. A maximum of 4 could be required which would amount to 1400 pounds at the minimum. Would anyone know what this part cost in the UK and if there is a suitable replacement part which I could buy that would not hurt the pocket this much? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Zohir
  2. Hey All, I need to buy an Antena adaptor for aftermarket stereo (Skoda to ISO) for my MK2 Octavia but i cant find it anywhere online, checked at nexxia but they're all out...was hoping if anyone would recommend any other sites that i could have a look at Thx
  3. Hey mr200, i've been looking to upgrade my audio myself and would say that i do understand audio to some extent myself...looking to change the front to an illusion audio carbon series with a fully active set up powered by steg k series amplifiers....waiting for some pics of urs coz really want to see what u got to combat the awfull positioning of the stock speaker locations (especially the tweeters) Also do shed some light on what cabling you would be using.... cheers
  4. Gotta get that checked with a professional mate.....could be a range of issues from ur IC on its way out or maybe even summin with the power supply
  5. Had the light go off a week back, stopped the car and gave the wheels a once over(visually)....did'nt see any issue so just stopped off at the next pump and checked the air pressure just incase then had the same problem 3 days back and got the tyres checked and what do u know.....one of the tyres had a slow puncture with 2 nails jammed in....TPM pretty much avoided any major tyre damage.....thumbs up from me
  6. where did u buy it from...rather could u help me with any website that might sell these frames???
  7. Hey, just had a question for all u guys who have changed their HU's to aftermarket ones if you have parking sensors with the audible alert, do you lose the audible alert as well when u move from a stream HU to an aftermarket one BOOM
  8. looks real good....what u got for the speakers tho??? couple of questions 1. where and for how much did u get the plastic frame surround and harness(Connector to the main wiring from the car to the kenwood headunit) 2. if you have parking sensors do u lose the audio indiacators when u disconnect the stream and fit a aftermarket headunit??
  9. kindly elaborate as i cant seem to find it anywhere:confused: i mean the blip-blip:D
  10. Hey guys, The monsoons just hit India and i got a chance to use all the different features of my car that are meant for the rains (rain sensing wipers, rain closing windows and the like) Noticed one thing though that the heated mirrors dont really seem to be working, does it take really long for the mirrors to take effect, or are mine not really functioning???? Any Insight????????
  11. It would be best to run the power cables down the side and also keep this in mind that RC chords that run from the Headunit to the amp should never be alongside the power cables, so u'd best run them on the other side so that you dont get any of that annoying alternator whine :thumbdwn: The stock speaker location in the rear is a 5" speaker but with a little adjustments you can fit a 5 1/2" speaker, check out ground zero from germany......pretty good stuff p.s - use a minimun of an 8 gauge cable and dont forget the fuse (super important)
  12. Not had a problem in terms of temp of air but my only problem was that there was air coming out of the top vents even when i had selected only the front ones which as a result used to fog up the windscreen......one trip to the service station and they fixed it......not had a problem since:)
  13. i paid the equivalent of 60 pounds here in India which i thought was a bit much considering the first 3 services are supposed to be free, but after looking at the amount you guys have paid it seems i've gotten off pretty cheap:)
