  1. I have a very well maintained 2004 VRS with 190,000 miles on the clock, almost all motorway cruising. Its currently in good working order but I will be getting another work car soon so I need to sell it on. It will be genuinely missed. The best car i've ever had. It certainly not been cheap to run as I've always kept it very well maintained. I understand that the mileage would put most buyers off, but what sort of price would be reasonable to sell it for? Its got a relatively young turbo on it and new front tyres. 150,000 milers seem to go for £3k There's one 200,000 miler for sale at £2k Does £2k same like a reasonable sum?
  2. Too late. Its on order. The car only has to last another 12 months (30k miles) before it goes.
  3. It looks like I need to find out the exact part number that is on my car now. I'm looking for the cheapest new one and I'll need it before Saturday 25th. Getting that hatch cover back on will be fun.....
  4. My rear wiper motor has sprung a leak and has now packed up, so I need a replacement. I bought a used on online, Bosch 1J6 955 711 C and it's not the right one. What would the correct part number be for a 2004 Fabia VRS? Apparently it's a Valeo unit. If there's any doubt then I'll take the hatch cover of again to check.
  5. VRS, 30k miles a year. Currently on 190k miles
  6. Hopefully it'll be the pipe and not the intercooler, which is still standard and they are fairly expensive to replace
  7. In the last 150k miles of my ownership (190k in total) of my 04 MK1 VRS I've gone through several sections of plastic 'boost' pipe that have failed, resulting in air leaks. Also once, the intercooler split at the bottom, again resulting in an air leak. I replaced it with a cheap used replacement bought from a member of this site, which did the job for a year or so. I now have another air leak, with a hissy woosh (more than is normal) from the drivers side of the engine when the boost builds up. There is minimal power loss. I'm going to have this checked out to see where the leak is. It sounds exacly like when the intercooler went last year. I'm hoping its not the intercooler, but if it is, could there be a reason why this one has gone as well as the previous one? Are they known to split/leak at high mileage or I have just been unlucky? My car is standard Thanks
  8. My 04 VRS is on 187k.Owned since 38k. Oil and filter changes at 10k Still on original clutch Headgasket failure at 90k, fixed Turbo replaced at 145k 2 cambelt changes AC compressor replaced Loads of other minor stuff fixed Way too many tyres and a ridiculous amount of bulbs I'm keeping it for another 30k at least Still goes really well Current to do list is: Cambelt change at 190k Rear wiper motor Minor boost leak somewhere Laquer has peeled from spoiler, needs painting
  9. Currently at 186,000 miles. A few more repairs since I last updated (replacement intercooler [last one split] and drop links) Now I need to fix a broken rear washer (rusted rear motor) New front tyres tomorrow, Uniroyal Rainsport 3
