  10. Hi All I have been so busy lately that I didn't even know that the meet was on. I had just come back from Alton Towers with the family and had popped out to get some shopping in Burnham-on-Sea, and being a Skoda spotter I noticed a very high concentration of Skodas at East Brent roundabout...then a white Fabis vRS flashed me! This is when it dawned. Did anyone see a Race Blue Facelift Octavia vRS on Saturday afternoon coming the other way? Hopefully next time I will join in! DavRS

  14. I have had my DSG CR TDI vRS for a few months now and it is brilliant! I had a PD TDI vRS with a manual box for three years and that was also great, but my new car is quieter, better on fuel and absolutely awesome in "S" ! The paddles are also brilliant and rapid on a winding road, if you get the chance........or you can chill and drive with cruise in "D" and eat up the miles. In future there will be no choice for me and I definitely like to "Drive" my car........this is a no brainer choice!
  15. I am 5'10'' and once had the seat pushing on my thighs and couldn't get it comfortable. Try lowering the seat fully then bring it back up, as it seems to come up sloping forward slightly and takes the pressure off your thighs......Tell me if it helps? Cheers DavRS
  16. Chris Assuming you went to your local dealer, did you ever get to the bottom of either problem 1 or 2? Cheers DavRS
  17. I have sort of got used to my steering playing up, as I recently drove down to Tours in France and the motorways are great. Coming back I realised how awful my 25 mile daily commute was as the motorways are very bad. The whole thing was driving me crazy as nobody believed me, especially Skoda. My car was okay, then went in to have a new rack then came back with dodgy steering! Please see my post in... Knocking sound from under car, engine mounting ?
  18. I had a rack changed on my 57 vRS TDI and the steering was not straight when I got it back. Skoda adjusted the track rod ends and all correected. Then a few thousand miles later I had new front tyres and the steering wheel went off centre again............etc. etc... To cut a long story short and after many alignment checks, Volkswagen did a full 4 wheel alignment and had to move the steering wheel a couple of splines. It turns out that the car was not re-aligned when the rack was changed. Its possible that your car is not aligned properly and this is why the steering wheel has moved after new tyres. Hope this helps?
  19. I had problem the knocking sound at about 17k and it turned out to be a faulty steering rack. The rack was replaced on my 57 plate vRSTDI under warranty, but then I had a battle to get the steering wheel put straight......After many visits and alignment checks, the local VW garage (not Skoda) moved the steering wheel by two splines! I also have the second problem and it is currently doing my head in, as nobody seems to believe me. There now seems to be a little bit of play in the steering wheel (say 1cm on the circumference) and instead of being able to brace the steering against slight changes in camber I am having to constantly move it to keep the car straight. I liken the sensation to balancing on a narrow beam using my arms. Is this the same sensation you are getting? Hope this helps and please reply if you have any further info!
