  1. search for this in the forum - VAG 170 PS Diesel Injector Failures - VOSA action this will give you an idea of how big the problem has been with these injectors the failing injectors do cause stalling often without any warning... thats why i suspected my injectors were of the siemens variety which are the faulty type injectors so when i went to have them checked i wasnt surprised to find they have replaced them with bosch injectors.. you should have the new bosch injectors too as you had them fitted recently - only thing i can think of is that the wiring harness is faulty or the plug connectors on 1 or more injectors isnt seated correctly or was damaged when replacing the injectors.
  2. i had mine done today 56plate vrs, mine stalled a few times before they replaced them and wiring harness (i paid for that myself as not included in recall anymore heard stories that this can cause shorts to the injectors) only driven approx 70miles since injectors replaced today but i can report that no stalls or any problems touch wood....... i would suggest taking it back as they did the work and it was fine before !
  3. just a quick post - dont let what happened to MANTAMAD put you off going for injector recall had new injectors fitted today (i paid for wiring harness £82 not included in recall anymore, thought have a new 1 fitted for free whilst their in there) driving home and what a difference! engine feels smoother, more responsive and it feels stronger! plus an added bonus my mpg has gone up approx 5-8mpg
  4. got mine booked in for injector recall on wednesday.... hope they dont mess it up too!
  5. did you have gap insurance so at least you will get back what you paid for your car?
  6. the console is basically the big aluminium casing around the rubber bush, you can buy rubber or poly bushes seperate and then insert/press them into the casing instead of buying the complete console bush (casing with a bush already in).
  7. i would get it up on a ramp mate or jack it up and check the springs, usually with broken springs they are at the bottom in the spring cup and there will probably be about 2-3inchs of the spring broken off.
  8. i agree with dodgy wait until youve done 10k + or until you have had your 1st service and see what your getting then... engine will be run in and more fuel efficient after 10 -15k on clock
  9. it is possible that the fronts are worn yes, in my experience i replaced the rear bushes and the knocking immediatley went just driving out of the workshop. mine has 70 000miles and was knocking for approx 1-2months prob covered around 700-1000miles in that time. i was letting it develop whilst keeping an eye/ear on it to diagnose.
  10. davidsr20 - yes it will be your front bush making the knocking but it will be the rear bush causing it because of the added movement in the bush. georgel - the bushes are about £65 each from tps so from main dealer over counter they will be more..
  11. yeah there was very minimal play in mine was a bit sceptic about changing them esspecially as they were about £65 each from tps! what i was thinking is that as your wheel goes over a bump and if there is slight play in the rear bush of the front wishbone this will allow the wheel to move forwards and backwards causing added stress on the front bush and that is where the knocking seems to come from. obviously check for play in all other joints and bushes if nothing found it will probably be these bushes at fault. there easy to change about 10min a side, remember to mark the position of the bush casing before you undo any bolts so you get the new ones in same position otherwise it will be a trip to have wheel alignment done. good luck.
  12. had same fault on my vrs, had it on the ramp and nothing obvious to see or feel in any of the joints or bushes... very very slight wear marks on the rubber of the front rear wishbone bushes the ones that are complete with the alluminium casing. replaced both, knocking/bobling noise at slow speed on rough roads GONE!
  13. mine has 68k on clock and has skoda extended warranty also, mine has very slight whistle from the turbo but only when cold is this the same whislte as yours? i might take mine in for them to check it out and replace the turbo if needed.
