  1. mine generally pops the pipe off near the airbox if its been frozen and it has in the past popped the rear off also (accessible from the LHR trim running up the door jam) .
  2. tyres are the general suspect, as they follow the contours in the road, could be wishbone bushes, or maybe trackrod ends or steering rack ends.
  3. Cheers for the pics biggy7,, which rack is the one you've posted the pics of?
  4. Excellent, but which is which mate? Thanks Chris
  5. Hi,I need to change a couple of rack ends on my fabia vrs and have been told there are two types of rack fitted.one trw and one coil. Does anyone know how to differentiate between the two? Thanks in advance
  6. i would give a thumbs up to the thule systems. i use the slim bars and good quality thule carriers (with the ratcheting handle) and i'm relly happy with them.take no time to fit maybe ten minutes?
  7. maybe frozen diesel....but once the cars been running for a while it should have circulated some warm fuel back to the tank??? it really needs the fuel pressure checked, make sure the pumps working correcly etc and go from there. We have had problems out in the sticks around -18-19oc with this sort of problem. hope you get it sorted.....
  8. Well tonight i had a look at 2 things;- 1- check the egr was operating ok by sucking on the vacuum pipe and looking down the inlet pipe. 2- check the wastegate actuator and rod were moving correctly...... the rod linkage was a little 'sticky' so operating it in one hand, with a length of wire and a small amount of spray grease in the other lubricated the linkage. seemed to free off and has driven fine since?? no more power issue and management light........fingers crossed! cheers everyone!
  9. well the fault has developed today brought on the management light. I've had the code read and it came up as p-0299 anybody had any experience with this? Cheers

  12. aye even blankingit off would do the business but having the engine waring lamp on all the time would get on my wick!
  13. i think i'll try moving the actuator arm and see what we have goin on! i really dont like the egr valve idea and all the 'gunk' going into the system.
  14. I've just replace the seal and clip on the lower boost pipe, i think all the rest of the pipes have no leaks? its doing around 44mpg which seems fairly constant but does appear to be smoking a little more than normal. there also seems to be a second or so delay before power kicks in? i do hope its not the turbo! can they be stripped and cleaned? cheers everyone
