  1. It's fortunate it's not the live "road" version...... slighty heavier and more "angsty"
  2. I'm not going, but frequent it on a regular basis - Saturday night it was open until 6am :D Parking: Imagine you're facing it. Turn 90 degrees right, and follow the road under the bridge until you come to a t-junction type thing (when you see it, it'll make sense) Turn left, then left again for an NCP carpark. Very secure (touch wood) - I use it most Saturdays. Cost - approx. £5.90 for 3-4 hrs, £7.20 4-6 hrs (I could be wrong though - I pay on credit card, which is also very useful). HTH
  3. Tricky one...... Try the following recipe: 1 part Led Zeppelin 1 part Joni Mitchell 2 parts Bob Dylan 1 part Ramones (this isn't going well......) Generally electro-acoustic, varying influences, incredibly passionate live performances which he somehow manages to recreate on his recorded works. From "Grace", try listening to "Last Goodbye", "Eternal Life" and "Hallejulah" (sp) for a nice mixture. For an amazing song, any live version of Van Morrison's "The Way Young Lovers Do" - as found on "Live At Sine-E" and "Live At The Bataclan"
  4. About 12 years ago, HMV produced a guide to different albums in various genres, and selected the 5 albums they believed would become future classics..... The ones I can remember off the top of my head: "Grand Prix" by Teenage Fanclub "I'm With Stupid" by Aimee Mann "Nevermind" by Nirvana "Grace" by Jeff Buckley Buckley's back catalogue is superb, including the "unreleased" and live works.... Music for all moods, all the time.

    Bassists

For other great bassists, try: John Pattitucci Les Claypool (of Primus) (to a lesser extent) Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
  6. Assuming you have a job at the mo? Do AAT for 2/3 evenings a week at the local college.... Entering with no qualifications or experience is painful....
  7. I'm an accountant too:) (didn't realise there were that many of us on here!) and have been far too busy working to post on here for a while now.... sorry for being late My 2p's worth - I left school after A-levels (Maths, Business Studies and IT), and 6 months later started at a local small practice who put me through AAT and then started me on ACCA. I gained a lot of experience that way - IMHO I'm probably more "work-experienced" than most of the graduates here (who are of a similar age - 25), which I'm happy about. The exemptions gained frm having an accountancy-related degree have changed in the past couple of months AFAIK - I believe they are now the same as having AAT. So the choice is - do you want to go through uni (and have a wicked time, but end up in lots of debt, but then get a quite well paid job at the end) or start as a trainee in practice, get loads of experience and be earning money as well..... It's a toughee
  8. Nice Anyway, what's wrong with the Hoff??? Edit: Just realised, the Hoff is old news.... D'oh! What's wrong with badgers?
