  1. Ahhhh, I thought it would be something like that, otherwise a group could buy one little black box and after a morning of tinkering could have lot's of little Fabia going Vroooom. So Ebay doesn't get a visit from me today Thanks All Heath
  2. I have seen one of these AMD One Clicks for sale second hand, does anyone know for sure if they can be used on any vehicle or if they are tied to one ECU? I would hate to buy it and find out that it is useless, or will AMD modify it for a few
  3. I had one of those I brought off Ebay, did increase the performance, made me want a proper upgrade, however after about 1000miles with it in a light apeared on the dash telling me there was a fault with the engine management. Took it in to the garage, after removing the box. I was completely honest with them and they found that the fault was caused by it, they reset it for free and didn't really complain about what I had done. I have not put the box back on since. Hope this helps
  4. Hi I have had a tuning box fitted to my Vrs, that I got off Ebay, for the last 1000 miles or so and I think it did give me a bit of a performance boost. However on the way home tonight the EPC light came on, I turned the engine off and re started but it was still on, so I removed the tuning box and tried again and it's still on. A few questions: Have I buggered something? (On the engine) Will it cost me much to put it right? Is it just a case of resetting with a Vag-Com? If so is there anyone local who can do this for me? (In Lincolnshire)(For Beer Vouchers)? Is my dealer going to be mad at me, if I have to go to see them? Is it safe to drive as is (Need to get to work)? Thanks Heath
  5. I have a slight rattle that has started in my passenger side door, but it goes away if I unlock that door, I'm going to mention it at it's first service to see if they can do anything. Heath
  6. I've got them on my Fabia and they were fitted by the dealer as I wanted some options and it was a pre ordered car, they said it was very easy to do and only cost me
  7. Not sure which it is, seems to have given the car a bit more "PEP" nothing stunning but good for the
  8. Hi Thanks for that, I think what I was trying to say was does the fuel computer react to actual fuel used or to the amount of fuel the ECU thinks it's putting in. Thanks Heath
  9. Hi I have...... Sorry my friend has a tuning box that they bought off Ebay to tide them over until a full remap is installed on their Vrs. My question... sorry, his question is:- Does the box effect the fuel computer at all, will it now give false readings, or is the fuel computer nothing to do with the bit the tuning box plugs into and still working perfectly? Also does a full remap affect the fuel computer in any way? Sorry about the sad questions but my friend is a bit of a Donkey Thanks Heath
  10. Not motorcycle insurance, it could all go :scared: I had several years motorbike NCB when I started to get insured on my Car, but they said it's not transferable. I have heard of people having accidents in company cars losing thier Motorbike NCB, bloody insurance companies!!!!!! I have one hope that they don't make it knock for knock otherwise I have to throw myself at the mercy of the Insurance Companies :( I can live in hope, bloody Focus drivers!!!!!! Heath
  11. HI I've been thinking about the suggestions to cut the flap out the way to encourage more air through. Well here's my 2p's worth. I have seen several con rods off diesel that had swallowed some water and it wasn't nice. Air as you know compresses and a diesel compresses it a lot (about 20:1) and this is what causes combustion, however water doesn't compress it just bends the con rods, , which isn't good. Anyway I was thinking the flap may be there to limit the amount of water that enters the system ( a little doesn't hurt) but if it rains really hard, or the car ahead throws up lots of water or you go through a ford you may have problems. As I have mentioned before I'm interested in this mod, but as I'm a: Paranoid and b: Very unlucky I'll be leaving the flap on the Seat tubes if I get them. Heath
  12. I understand the concept of more air good, less air bad. I was just interested if anyone knew that the standard ECU would compensate enough fuel for the extra air, as we all know loads of air and no fuel doesn't do anything!!!!! Is the standard ECU capable of allowing for the extra flow of air or is it set with an in built maximum fuel? These questions and many more keep going around my head. If I can have a definitve yes it'll get you some more power, say 5bhp and more torque then I'll be beating a path to the Seat garage ASAP.Thanks
  13. Hi I was interested in this mod and I am looking forward to seeing some dyno evidence of it. I have a question though, I have a completely bog stock VRS and was thinking of a Green Filter and this mod, will I see any gains at all? Or is it just for chipped cars? Thanks Heath
  14. I know our cars aren't about 0 to 60 times or standing quarters, I was just asking how the best way to get of the line if a prat in a Saxo starts reving next to you (At Santa Pod, Honestly) I used to be able to get my Rover Diesel to surprise many people at the lights in much better cars but I haven't perfected the launch technique on the Furby yet. I was just after some pointers.
