  1. your version of bag tacho ain't compatible. had the same with mine.. had to use vag tacho 2.5 or perhaps 2.2 to make it work. I'm waiting on VCP (vag can pro). in the quest of this including mk5/6 platform also.
  2. surprise, surprise..... Found yet more intercooler hoses leaking yesterday. While installing new rear swaybar and powerflex dogbone mount. Will report back later on this week if it made a difference or not.
  3. I too have been at the quest of making my VRS more fuel efficient. Started off with basics. I was barely getting 350-400kms to a tank of diesel. After browsing the forum and seeing what others had done. I decided to get a DNA map. As it turned out I had a horrible MAP on the car when purschasing a few months ago. Everything replaced to date. New Fuel filter Ran Liqui-Moly Diesel Purge through the injector pump Liqui Moly Super Diesel Cetane additive in the tank Another Liqui Moly product to clean the EGR and Intake Manifold (I would say it's not as bad as some of the pictures seen on the forum) New OEM Air filter. Original was virtually black After all of this I went from 8.5-10km/L in town and 12.4-13.7km/L on the open road to 13-14km/L in town and 18-19km/L on the open road There after I found what appeared to be leaking boost hoses (surprised? I'm not...) Used the cable tie method of sorting that out temporarily till I decide on an Intercooler Setup and do it. Install new Coolant Temp Sensor and changed new Liqui Moly Diesel 507 Oil and new Oil Filter. Decided while I was there added new Liqui Moly G12/13 Coolant also. At this stage I was averaging 15.5-16.9 km/L around town and a whopping 22-22.5km/L on the open road. Till a few days ago, the car dropped all the coolant. Drove for approx. 8-13kms with what I thought was no coolant. Got home found the leak and fixed it. Just as well I had plenty extra coolant G12/13 bottles. Refilled the cooling system But now back down to 10-11.5km/L in town and only barely managing 16.6km/L on the open road So the Hunt begins yet again to get the mileage back up to what it should be.
  4. I have used Liqui Moly Diesel Purge, But also their DPF cleaning kit. You remove a sensor from the exhaust and spray it into the DPF. It cleans out all the build up. It may prolong the life of your current DPF?
  5. What specs are your twists and adaptors? Also, how the APPS ride quality at that height? I'm wanting a set of AP's. But shops either don't sell internationally. The companies I have used over the years no longer stock them or simply do not respond to any email communication.. So I'm stuck, with really expensive setups like KW, ST or BC racing and yellow speed. I know KW and ST are awesome kits though. Not wanting to go that crazy on suspension.
  6. some great information and some amazing determination and skills displayed here. How is this getting along? any more progress on the ceramic coated pistons, block etc? Would be very interesting to see if Faboka can get the stock ECU to run, fuel and control the 16v setup.
  7. Do you have any information you are able to share regarding setting up injectors, timing? May as well check if all that stuff is good on mine. Then I can finally start on my own build thread. As my vrs had the cambelt etc done only 2-3 weeks prior to me purchasing the car. It's mpg is **** poor compared to my Pd130 AWX in my manual B6 A4 I use to have.
  8. Interesting I don't believe mine has performance issues. Tapping I'm guessing is normal? .no noise from Airbox. But do have poor MPG. Just finished, EGR and ASV clean, new air filter, cutaneous booster/cleaner from liqui moly. I have managed to up my 28mpg to 43mpg as it stands. Still have the liqui moly injector purge to run and new fuel filter to install.
  9. If you can confirm it's the PD160 intake, via photos or part numbers listed on your parts? I'm happy to take both, also happy to pay for international shipping as well. Thanks
  10. a lot of cool things you have done to your fabia. How much mileage is on your car that you are replacing the Camshaft and bearings? I have read on forums over the years the PD130 is one of the best motors to use, at the same token it does suffer from the soft camshaft issue. More curious, whether I should be concerned with my own fabia about the dread camshaft bearing issue? Mine has only just broken into 60,000 miles. Keep up the good work, as there are a few things I would like to do to my own one now. Lastly, where did you get the DEPO xenon or genuine Xenon from? So far I only managed to find a set of Depo non xenon (black) headlights. So bought them so I can at least get rid of the ugly chrome.
  11. Has anyone had their diesel mapped by DNA tuning? Would be very curious to know.
  12. Some great info in here. I too just bought a 04 furby vrs. Hopefully arrives with the car transporter next week sometime. I'm currently stuck with suspension choices? Narrowed down to the following 25mm APR suspension kit or Koni STR. But don't like the idea of H&R springs Whiteline ARB Powerflex bushes Darkside front mount intercooler Piper catless downpipe
  13. Would anyone have the part number for the genuine Skoda radio facia? Also, do they make a single din and double din facia? Thanks nevermind, google found me the link I was after. For anyone else looking for info or part numbers? http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/196288-oem-wiring-loom-colours-pins-for-stereos/
  14. Nice work mate. You just can't leave anything alone? I'm guessing this will be just as much of a PITA as the mk6 into mk5? Also, any idea what would be required to install MFSW on manual MK2 Octavia?
  15. Just heard the news, What a true shame loosing such a great person. Always willing to help. Good guy. Thoughts and prayers are with his family.
