  1. Yes a standard speedo will fit if you change over the dials. The odometer on my Fun packed up ( maybe a common problem ?) I got a standard brand new Felica one from Ebay cost me £10. Remove the instrument cluster from the car and take the front cover off , (easy to work out when you have the cluster out ) Two screws at the back hold the speedo in. Then what you have to do is remove the yellow facia off your old speedo and fit it to the new one and refit BE CAREFUL , you have to remove the speedo needle , it just pulls off , but beware it has a slight pre-load on it , so if you put it back on in the wrong posistion your speedo will be out ! I forgot and had to place the needle on the speedo lightly , then re-fit to my car temporarlily , and follow my wife up the road whilst she was in our other car, driving side by side to calibrate the speedo !!!!!
  2. Decided in the end , due to the lovely condition of the roads around me !!! That lowering my Fun this low is just not going to work ! Put my original springs back on for now , and the Felicia lowering springs have been put on Fleabay !!
  3. I know in the past there has been various people looking for a Fun Pick-up bumper. This may be of interest to some forum members Seen this on Ebay SKODA FELICIA PICK UP FRONT BUMPER on eBay, also, Skoda, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 19-Aug-08 20:26:12 BST) Doesn't actually say that it is a Fun front bumper and there is no picture, but it is advertsied as a "pick-up front bumper in yellow" , might be a bargain for someone !!! and its brand new !!
  4. Now thats the type of fix I am talking about , nice and cheap , excellent idea!! Thanks for the suggestion , I will definitely look into it and see what suspension travel I have actually got to play with
  5. The flap you have the arrow pointing to in your photo , looks as if it is the choke flap ? Do you have a manual choke in the car you have to pull out to start or is it automatic choke ? You say the flap is open ? It should be when the car is at running temperature ? It should be closed when the engine is cold and warming up ? If you say that when you close the flap the car runs better , then all you are doing is making it run richer , which sounds like Lummox said that you must have an air leak. Check all the pipes connected to the carb and worse case scenario could be a blocked jet or leaking inlet manifold gasket possibly ? Not sure if this helps you at all ?
  6. Well I have put the wheels on I wanted 17inch Fox Lowered the front by 35mm , and put Golf GTI springs on the rear , which gave me about 30mm on my Felicia Fun Now I personally like it , but the major problem I have is clearance on the front ! As you can see from the photos , there is hardly nothing and any bump causes the wheel to hit the wheel arch. Any suggestions to someone on a BUDGET ( the wife wants the conservatory finished !) I can only think of a few 1. Change the wheels ...........but I like these ones 2. Coilovers.............too expensive 3. change the front springs..........expense again 4. Cut inner lip of wheelarch ............well it will help in a straight line lol 5. Fit "flintstone" front dampers so there is no movement ..........I can see this being the only possibilty ? Don't suggest a "lummox" air suspension mod .....I cant afford it ( by the way how much does that cost Hmmm) Cheers Stuart
  7. Hi , yes these are definitely the standard springs I took off. The lowering springs were PI springs for a Favorit ! Came un-boxed There was writing on them , but I could not tell you off-hand what it said ? ( I have the rears still off the car , as I put Golf GTI ones on the rear !) I have just poked my head under the wheelarch and cannot see it , if you are really desperate for what it says on them I could jack it up tomorrow and take a look to see if I can read it ? I will say that when both springs i.e. standard and lowered were next to each other there was not too much difference in the free length , approx 20-30mm , but the thickness of the coil is a lot more on the standard spring Thnaks for info on the damper , that is what I needed
  8. This is very spooky though ! I was just going to ask you to measure the bottom of the front damper diameter for me !! That's why I logged in ! I was hoping to find an alternative i.e. Ford etc as aftermarket dampers for them are easier to find and cheaper !! I have fitted lowering springs to mine , but with the 17inch wheels they now hit the arches over any bumps ! I want to keep the wheels and the springs , so I am now thinking of stiffening up the shocks ( on a budget!)
  9. Hi , Just taken the front ones off my 1999 Pick up last weekend . What do you need to know ?
  10. My wifes is (was) a 1.2 SXI Corsa 2002 The DVLA has it in tax band D i.e. 151 - 165 co2/g/km If you look at most places including the SMMT (respected organistion) website , it comes up as 146 g/km !!! which is Band C But as I said the DVLA were not interested , although to us it made a £25 difference for a year , but it was more the principle than the cost !! You will find that later corsa's i.e. XEP engines (2004-05 onwards ?) , are in the correct tax band , your sisters may be a later one ?
  11. Yes , and to be honest he has a bit of a naff one there anyway ! Cloth seats and trim instead of leather ! No leather yellow steering wheel or gear shift or handbrake gaiters ! Its missing the rear and side decals , and no wooden slated bed in the back !! Maybe we should point that out to him ! Ha ha:)
  12. I had the same problem with my wife's 2002 Corsa The manufacturers declaration at production to the DVLA was actually a higher CO2 than it was supposed to be , making it a higher tax band I contacted Vauxhall , who basically did not say I was wrong , but the certificate they had supplied to the DVLA was a legal document and basically they would not change it. I think personally this is due to the backlash i.e. imagine if they changed it , and all the owners of these vehicles since 2002 would want a refund on their road tax over payment , the costs would be overwhelming !. Basically I didnt get anywhere with it and had to put up with the higher tax band ( or sell the car !) , but I agree it is totally annoying when the manufacturer has made a mistake and we have to suffer for it , and the DVLA are not interested.
  13. Being a Felicia Fun owner who loves his truck ! Very sad to notice that there are a total of seven , yes seven of these wonderful vehicles for sale on Ebay at this very moment !! Whats wrong with people ? Why are you selling ? , These are future classics !! (I hope!)
  14. Just in case anyone is looking for one ? , there is a VERY clean looking Felicia Fun on Fleabay at the moment SKODA FELICIA 1.6 MPi FUN PICK UP PICKUP V REG VW CADDY on eBay, also, Skoda, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 06-May-08 19:22:55 BST) NO , nothing to do with me
