  1. It's not AWD that i don't like, I think its great. The only place I can really put my impreza to good use is on a track. On a road , a couple of gears and no time at all and you have to back off because you've already hit silly speeds
  2. Oh my god I'm not getting old am I... I'm only 24
  3. I think I've finally come to terms with the fact that on the UK roads a hot hatch is a lot more fun than an Impreza. I used to have an XR2i before and that was loads more fun, if it weren't for the reliability factor I'd be looking along those lines again
  4. Cool, I'll have to keep an eye out. Still liking the fabia at the mo, but we'll see when I drive em
  5. Yeah I'm not sure they'd let me out on my own, I know some of the more exec car places let you if you leave your licence with them
  6. I love the look of the 170's but never considered them because I thought they didn't do a diesel in the same trim. Anyone know the model of the diesel version? TBH I keep coming back to the fabia but everything deserves a look hey
  7. Thanks for the thorough answer, much appreciated! It's good to know that I can sort the power-off/on corner lurching with a simple mod. Guess I'll have to see how bad the nose diving is when I test drive
  8. Hehe this is what I'm worried about, I'm up for getting the rear anti-roll bar. But I don't want to have to spend around £800??? on improving the handling. I guess what I'm getting at is - is the handling as bad as the reviews say? could it be 'fixed' with the rear ARB alone? or do I realistically have to buy struts & springs to make it on a par with other hot hatches?
  9. About 9K to 9.5K tops. Not huge. The only thing thats putting me off the Fabia VRS at the moment is what I've heard about the handling, thats why I was after some other suggestions before I organise my test drives
  10. I've heard they're good but not my cup of tea I'm affraid :P Anyone got any other suggestions? So far I have Fabia VRS, Ibiza TDi (which model?), golf TDi (model?)
  11. Hi all, I currently drive a scooby but am only using it for the commute to work. THB its sucks plodding along at 65-70 on the m'way still getting 20ish mpg. I've been looking at the VRS but wanted to know - what other cars were around with half decent power and give good mpg? Thought it best to ask here since you have already done your research before your purchases. Cheers
  12. Thanks for your replies. I was just double checking there was no significant changes that fixed mechanical faults etc? Speaking of which are there many common faults, and anything to look out for when viewing (apart from the obvious when viewing any car)?
  13. Ah, ok so after 2003 there was a facelift and the only differences are cosmetic I guess? Thanks
