  1. Hi all. Has just started happening to my 08 reg. is what's peeling off a lacquer coat or some sort of plastic covering. Has anyone had theirs wrapped and if so any pics
  2. You are right. I had not gone the whole way to check out but it shows at the same £455 when you do. I guess that answers my question. Thanks for the replies. Mine is an Aug 08 CR. I know it is not compatible to the PD remap. Has anyone encountered the problem mentioned on the JKM website where unit is not compatible or ceases to be compatible if VAG apply a software update. Edit, I just read the JKM warning thread that had already been started. It sounds like a bit of a bummer. Could fork out £455 and find in a few months after service that it no longer works. Would still be interested to know if unit was bought by anyone and it failed to work or did work and now does not.
  3. About to purchase bluefin for my VRS diesel. Can anyone explain to me reason for the difference in price between Demon Tweeks £378 and Bluefin Website £445 Does the official site offer something above the demon tweeks (customer support etc) to justify the extra outlay. thanks KOB
  4. I am experiencing the same problem. Lots of vibration particularily when first moving off. As posted it improves after driving for a while, although I notice that the time taken to get better seems to be getting longer and longer. Also get a fair bit of vibration through the clutch pedal when I push on it. Definately did not do this when new Due for a service in a few week so will raise issue then.
  5. I agree with your posting entirely and you are correct to raise the issue. My only point was that Skoda would be foolish to risk their reputation on a known issue such as this and on one of their premium offerings. As I said before that does not mean I don't believe companies would act this way and if they have then Skoda deserve all the bad press and loss of customers that results. Also agree with your point on not being fobbed off by dealers. Thats where a web site like this gives the customer some power. So far it sounds as if maybe a dozen cases of this issue are circling around. It might be an isolated incident or the beginning of something much more significant. I assume that within the Briskoda website there has to be a significant percentage of CR owners relative to the overall sales of this unit. Certainly enough to gather meaningful info over the coming months to see if this problems persists and becomes more significant. I would second the earlier suggestion that is worthwhile being sticky'd. Hope you get a good resolution
  6. But how many people are affected so far. There must be a lot of CR owners on this site (i'm one on 17k so far with no probs). What sort of milage are people up to on their CR's and how many have encountered issues. Before seeing that post this mornng I had not seen the issue raised before. I'm certainly not naive enough to think a company wouldn't go to market with a product they are not 100% satisfied with, but if Skoda a company that has built its reputation on value for money and reliability has done so then it would seem a very bad move on their part.
  7. Let us know your thoughts on it once you have spent some time using it.
  8. Agree it is a bit overprice when compared to P-Torque etc, but not so much when you look a Revo & Jabbasport. I would pick those over bluefin also if I were in a position to get to them realtively easily, but as i'm not bluefin is the best alternative.
  9. Still see nothing on website either but if just newly available then maybe they don't keep site fully up to date. Must drop them a mail to find out for definate.
  10. Not a bad result. Definately keeps us posted on what it feels like to drive. I am awaiting bluefin as don't have easy access to superchips outlet. Hopeful that as it is now available at SC's then Bluefin won't be far behind. KOB
  11. Thanks for updates. Hopefully will be available in the not too distant future. I wouldn't mind being one of the early testers (although they don't appear to be offering much of a discount for this), but as I don't live in the UK it will not be an option
  12. Have been following this for a while. Last I read it was going to be available March/April. Is that the case has anyone gotten one already. If so what sort of increases are you getting.
  13. I am looking at ordering some uprated brake pads for my 04 vrs (std calipers & disc not the 312mm upgrade) I have seen that the Ferodo pads seem popular and have seen some on Performance Car Parts / EBC Brakes / Eibach Lowering Springs / Koni Suspension Kits / Magnex Exhausts / Powertec Induction Kits - Euro Performance. Before I press the order button can anyone clarify that Product code: FDS1419 are the correct ones to order. Help much appreciated
  14. Has anyone on site had experience of a remap in Ireland. I notice revo site mentions a few places that can offer their service. One in Galway & the Other in Meath. anyone used these for a VRS. Would like to go with something like a custom revo or jabba but don't want to have to go to UK to do it. I know I can get a AMD one click but my preference is for custom with some sort of after sales service, rather than a box in the post.
  15. Some paint was spilt on my wifes car. It was a water based household paint by the look of it. I removed it at the weekend but it took a lot of scrubbing. The paintwork where the paint was is now dulled compared to the rest of the bodywork. I assume this is a combination of the chemicals in the paint and my scrubbing to get it off. What is the best way to restore the paint. It is a metallic black car. Can products like t-cut be used on that type of paintwork.
