Thanks bluecar that would make sense from my limited knowledge, was it a one off or did it occur frequently? Im led to believe a new one for Fabia VRS is about 300 quid.

Hello All, I'm hoping one of you can help me with the following please in my Fabia VRS, Just got back from a 200 mile drive all of which was motorway. Just over half way through the car lost about 80 - 90% of its power. From what I could tell at the time the Engine Management System cut the turbo off leaving me with what I can only describe as the acceleration of a one litre Austin Metro (thinking back to my student days). It did this for about 10 miles where I then stopped at the services. After a ten minute break I started the car and carried on the journey, all the power had returned and the familiar 'whoosh' was again present and the rest of the journey was uneventful. I'm obviously going to keep an eye on this for a few days to ensure it doesn't happen again. As it has never happened before I am curious if anyone can give me an eye opener or a heads up in case it is the start of something more serious. I'm not sure if it is relevant but I had it remapped about 2 years ago, however I don't hammer it or thrash it in any way. Thanks in advance to all who can help.

Hi all, As the title says im running a Green Panel Filter on my Fabia VRS. Its done about 15,000 Miles and looking a bit black and battered. SO im considering the option of getting a piper cross panel filter even though its a few more quid. Can i open this up for opinions on the following. Is it worth getting some cleaner/oil and giving my current filter a clean. Should i just buy a new green filter? Has anyone changed from green to piper cross and noticed a difference? As im getting my 40,000 mile service and having cambelt etc done i thought id treat myself to a new MAF sensor as i read that after a while they can result in lowering the MPG. I was quoted a price between 75 and 250 quid from the dealer when i phoned? Is this right? I was expecting about 20 quid in my head? If this is the case is there a way i can clean it or freshen it up? Thanks in advance.

Hiya all, Just taken SWMBO out for her first driving lesson. After a couple of fairly heavy stalls (but nothing id call major) ive now got a few warning lights up. The Glow plug light is constantly flashing and the Control system for exhaust gases light is constantly on. I've had a search on here and checked the brake lights - which are working fine. Im far from technically minded but it seems a bit wierd that something could have gone majorly wrong just from a few stalls - everyone has to learn to drive at some point, even my missus. Any thought or ideas? Thanks in advance, Ben

Hi all I cracked the drivers side fog light in my Fabia VRS the other day and i need a new one. Found this one on Ebay and was wandering if anyone had bought the same thing and whether they fitted etc, ive always been bit unsure about about car parts on Ebay. Thanks in advance. Hi All Ive just bought a Bluetooth kit similar to a basic Parrot model in that it has a control panel and a mic that will protrude and everything else has to go under the dash. Ive never pulled the dash apart before and i was wandering is it easy enough to do and do any of you knowledgable people have any hints or tips? Thanks in advance Ben

Hello all As per the title, is there an easy way to remove the CD Multi changer under the passenger seat in my VRS or am i looking at removing the seat? Also is it easy enough to get the wiring out at the same time Thanks in advance Ben

Hi All After a quick and (as usual) dissapointing call to Skoda i need a bit of help. Basically im looking to take out the shelf below the standard Symphony stereo. Ideally i'd like to replace it with a cover/facia, do any of you guys know if this is possible and where i can get one from? Im also open to other ideas if any of you know of a better idea. Hi Ive got a Fabia VRS with the 6 x CD Multichanger under the passenger seat, does anyone know how/if this can be removed as im getting a bluetooth unit and i may as well sell the Multichanger if its easy enough to get out. Thanks Ben

Hi all, Has anyone got an IO Play Bluetooth Handsfree/MP3 streamer. Im looking at getting one and id like to get some input on how good/bad they are before i commit. Also are they easy enough to install with the standard symphony head unit or do i need extra wires? Cheers in advance, Ben

Hi all, just a quick question. To remove the roof aerial on a VRS do i screw or pull? Ive had a fiddle with it but dont want to screw or pull too hard to get it out. Thanks in advance

Thats a good point i forgot to mention the MPG. Running on Shell i was gettin 50-52 MPG when i filled up in Morrison it dropped to 40-43MPG and its still sat on about 45MPG now so although the engine is smoother again its still not as economical as it was.

Hello all just looking for some opinions on the following. I religiously use Shell standard diesel in my remapped Fabia VRS. A few months ago due to bad planning on my part i ended up having to put Morrissons fuel in. There was an instant negative change with my car. The engine was noisy, it was clunky to drive and there was a significant loss of BHP and torque. I then started to fill up with standard Shell stuff again and it took a good 2-3 months for the car to 'feel' like a VRS again. The other day i put a tank of V-Power in and the difference is again very noticable. The car is quieter, smoother to drive and there is a definite increase in the way the car feels. Has anyone else noticed anything similar or have any comments? Ive looked on the search but theres nothing definitive to what im asking. One things for certain, i wont be using supermarket fuel again. Cheers to all in advace. Ben
