  1. I suffered ingress of water in and around the sun visor courtesy light; I've fixed the ingress problem (drain nipples stuck shut) but since then neither my cruise control nor my CD multichanger works. Any ideas ? Forgot to mention, my car is a Skoda Superb.
  2. I had exactly the same problem; the issue is with the exit nipples for the sunroof drain holes - they're where the front door hinges are. You'll notice a rubber nipple which gets bunged up - simply squeeze it and any water left in the drain holes will run out. I got about half a pint of water out of mine. I squeeze my nipples regularly (?) and, touch wood, haven't had the problem since.
  3. Thanks for the quick reply, all queries now answered. I'll be glad when when my manual arrives so I can answer some of my own questions ! All the best, Barny.
  4. Hi, I've just bought a 3 year old Skoda Superb 1.9Tdi Elegance PD 130 and was diappointed to find that the umbrella is missing from the N/S rear passenger armrest umbrella holder thingy. Does anyone have any ideas of the following: - is it available as an spare part - what the price is - whether I could just shove any old umbrella in the compartment (I don't think so myself, but haven't tried it yet) Also, in the boot on the n/s in the compartment marked First Aid, underneath the CD multichanger there's a sort of compartment with what looks like brass threaded holes for some sort of cover or something. Anyone got any idea what went here ? The car doesn't have a driver's handbook, so I'm fumbling around with the 25,000 knobs & switches in the car trying to figure out what they all do. I've found a handbook on ebay & bought it so that should be here soon, but in the meantime, how to you set the time on the clock ? I've pressed, twiddled & pulled everything I can get my hands on with no success, or is the clock permanently set to Czech summer time ? Hope someone can help Barny
  5. Hi there, My name is Barny_Strode (it's not really - it's just a name I adopted for my Hotmail account; can anyone figure out why and what my real name is ? All the clues are ether.) I've just paid a deposit on a 2005 Skoda Superb 1.9 Tds PD130 Elegance and will be taking delivery sometime in the next few days. That means I haven't got much to say for myself at the moment, but I'm sure there'll be plenty of questions and comments once I get the car. I've had a fair mix of company motors in the past: Sierras, Cavaliers, Audis, BMW and Volvo, but I opted out of the company car scheme about 7 years ago (for tax reasons) and have been driving a Citroen Berligo Multispace since then. Bit of an odd car to choose for a company car driver, but it's amazing how your values change when it's your own money you're spending. It's been cheap to run, superbly practical, and a bundle of fun over the last 7 years; so much so, that I nearly didn't buy the Skoda - I couldn't bear to see my Berlingo left on a garage forecourt & not knowing who its next owners will be. I've been so attached to car before. Sad ? Weird ? I dunno, just a bit upsetting. Anyway, I spent 5 mins looking looking at the photos of my new car on the garage website, and I'm now looking forward to D-Day. The posting about car mats was useful, 'cos my car doesn't have them in & it's got cream interior, so mats will be the first purchase. I'll keep you updated. Regards Barny.
