  1. Little update. Skoda reckon it was caused by stones so not covered. If it was less than 6months they would have changed it for free. Believe able or not its still a bit unfortunate. Nevermind.
  2. Registered last July. The discs were spotless when I bought the car and were fine last week (around 600miles in now) ,I've got a pic of that wheel about a week or so ago that I was using for photoshopping black origamis. The disc is clean but wavey, quite remarkable really.
  3. I must add that it is the front disc and I haven't exactly been trundling through mud either.
  4. New yeti owner here (4weeks in). Just seen state of my nearside disc. Looks like it needs replacing (only 6k miles). I'm guessing some grit or something has got in there but could there be anything else that could cause it? Can feel it with my finger nail, and the pic was taken after a drive so it's not watermarks from being stood. Cheers.
  5. Hello, I am due to pick up my first Yeti on Friday. I am pretty sure it’s on longlife (variable?) services. (150scr diesel). How ever since I will be doing low miles a year Would it be wise to change this to fixed? Quick check online is showing it built July 2017 so thinking of waiting till July to change it to fixed and get a service. Remember having a BMW 1-Series a few years ago and trying to get it serviced yearly but being refused because the car said it didn’t need one. Charming.
  6. Cheers guys in the bin it goes.
  7. Replaced all 4 tyres to PS4s, but with the one below being fairly new I decided to keep hold of it, but I'm not sure if it's any good. Theres a slight tear probably 1-2mm deep which I'm guessing is from the tyre machine given the location. Pic may make it look worse than it is. If it was the side wall I would throw it. Thanks.
  8. Well the person who worked in the shop heard his little confession (although not much in the way of seeing what happened). Will ask for cctv, just wish he would contribute something out of his pocket and admit instead of being an arse about it.
  9. Hi people, here goes. Mother in law parks up, goes into shop, next minute this guy comes in and tells her he's bumped her car by accident, I say by accident but he said it was either that or the bollard. So the guy gives her his business card and off he goes. Damage is a scuff on the corner of the bumper, few specs of missing paint, small dent about 50p size and some lines where the paint has cracked. Now she got a quote from the garage of about £100 to fix it. Theres no damage to his 4x4 obviously. So she leaves him a voicemail, and now he's had time to think about it he's saying he never touched the car, doesnt know what she's on about etc. next he sends her a txt saying he never touched that bit jst the plastic trim on the side and thats not damaged, basically just worming his way out of it. He's so arrogant its unbelievable but, realisticly is there any point in going through insurance because no doubt they will say they cant prove it was him so therefore cant claim off his insurance, which will probably raise her premium when its next due. On the other hand dont want him to just get away with it the cheeky sod.
  10. Its not a bad car, is for work anyhow. Instead of a van. YeP i presume they are.
  11. So you think i have some rights for a refund based on the fact they didn't tell me the truth about the owners. Would like to see what signature is on the v5 I've never seen. What's unusual about the 3.0? The power compared to the capacity? Thanks for the replies guys.
  12. Yes one thing I did check before buying. Car checks came back as club auto, although askmid showed v6 SRI, although they all show the correct 2959cc.
  13. Thanks for the reply. They refused to give me my deposit back (£500) so gave them a chance and waited. I have the old slip part of the V5 which said Club 150 auto, so I presume its always been incorrect. When it goes on that long, I just wanted the dam thing, (it is still a decent car), just wish they were honest, and I trusted them since its a large garage (Perrys Vauxhall).
  14. Hi all, right, this garage has messed me around one to many times. All started when I saw one of their cars and put a deposit on it. Was going to part ex the Octavia untill they told me their stupid offer so I refused and said ill sell it private. Anyhow a week later I got impatient and rang up to accept the agreed offer. Went down and voila, they offered me £800 less than their first offer despite getting a 9/10 on the Octavia. Ok I was annoyed but couldnt do anything. 1-0 to dealer. Car got MOT and then they realised they or someone lost the V5. So fast forward 4weeks of waiting and different stories of, "oh should be here tomorrow" "previous owner has gone on holiday" " Its getting sent here now" "Previous owner is cuckoo and isnt letting us have it". (I did get a courtesy car though), No phone calls returned, so im getting mad at this point. Car had a few marks and niggles, which I was promised would be sorted (and not with a touch up pen), so obviousley the magic pen came out and then everything else got left. So amazingly this V5 turns up (we did complain to the the manager by this point). Go to pick the car up, was so fed up of waiting I accepted it was what it was, noticed on the V5 the car details were incorrect, as in club edition 150 auto, when it was a Vectra Sri v6 manual. "Oh ill ring up tomorrow and sort it so its changed for when you get the new V5". Btw he filled the V5 out on my behalf and had already sent it off. So guess what, V5 comes in my name with the Club 150 Auto details still on and 3 previous owners......... hang on, I asked twice how many previous owners and was told 1. That pushed me to far, soooo do I have a leg to stand on, in getting my money back, as all this was "his word, not in writing" Lesson learned.
  15. Going to start new thread with few other bits.
  16. Car is now sold. Wheels up for sale shortly.
  17. Price drop to £3000 and a packet of crisps.
  18. Skoda Octavia 2003(53) Black magic vRS. 62k miles. Usual Vrs spec: electric windows, air con, half leather, remote locking etc. Tax Due Nov 31st and MOT 7th Nov. No MOT advisories. I am the second owner. This car has been well cared for and is immaculate inside and out with no dents or scratches. It has full service history and serviced at 15k,24k,34k,43k,50k and lastly 56676miles which included the cambelt and waterpump at Awesome GTi. This car has the following upgrades: Uprated bushes and rear antiroll bar Height adjustable Weitec Coilovers Blueflame full exhaust Forge Dumpvalve and quickshift RS Tuning remap (240ish bhp) Sach clutch and G60 flywheel All common (prone to split) boost hoses changed Standard cd player is a 6 disc cd player although has been replaced with Alpine cd player and front speakers. (All originals will be included aswell). Pictures show standard 17" Spider alloys which will be on the car when sold and 18" lightweight Team Dynamics with Toyo Proxies T1 tyres, which are less than a year old which are like new at an optional extra cost!! £SOLD James on 07817534914
  19. How deep are your pockets and are you prepared to loose the extra you've paid when you come to sell. Manifolds will give minimal gains and if you want to notice an increase in power then the next step would be the ko4 turbo and internals from a BAM engined car. If you can source them cheaply (2nd hand) its probably worth it for 270ish bhp, beyond that theres alot more that will need upgrading and you have to think if its worth putting all of it into the VRS. A mapped Golf edition 30 seems more appealing to me.
  20. Try Costco, got my Bosch ones for less than £60 last year.
  21. Wish I knew myself incase it came back.I remember spraying right up where it met the top mount which did the trick for 5mins lol, Was only Wd40 so something silicone based may last longer.
  22. I had something very similar, maybe more of a rubbing noise but could only hear it in the conditions you said. While car was getting some other work done had mechanic have a look, couldnt see anything so greased the coilover (weitec) and problem solved. Worth a try I guess.
