  1. n0ct0 I came to the Roomster by exactly the same route, have to agree that the 100HP was lots of fun but my back couldn't take the ride for longer than the year I had it.Roomster is more practical but not half as much fun:) I've had a look at the Qubo too but to sell a car in 2009 with no carpets and just crappy and very slippery plastic on the floor is a bit unforgivable
  2. Wonder what percentage of sales will be 4X4? I think I would stick with the 2 wheel-drive myself.I do like it in Red though:thumbup:
  3. Are you sure it's 2 1/2 years old? that seems way over the odds if it is,there are plenty of same spec cars under a year old for than money.Out of interest what dealer is it?Progress in Letchworth have a few if you want to compare. www.skoda.co.uk/retailers/progress_skoda_letchworth.aspx
  4. Sorry I should have been clearer. An ex-demo or a Skoda UK car is what I really meant when I said get one about 6 months old.:)Probably get a good deal on a 58 plate at the moment now that 09 plate has just started
  5. I would say you would be better off getting a car that is about 6 months old,it will have depreciated a fair bit but still be basically a new car.I got an ex-Skoda UK car that was 7 months old had 3,000 miles on it and saved about £4000 on list price and there are some even better deals at the moment. The 2 was a good compromise the 1 being very basic and the 3 being too expensive for what you got extra. As for engines I can't fault the 1.9 TDI,very nippy when overtaking and does about 55mpg,i did consider the 1.4TDI but there wasn't a lot of price difference either to buy or insure and I'd read that it struggled a bit when shown a bit of a hill. The one mistake I did make was to go for a dark colour, the paint seems to mark and scratch much easier than previous cars i've had.
  6. I was really looking forward to the Yeti coming out,the concept looked brilliant but the production version has lost a lot of the funkiness
  7. I would recommend the Roomster,I have the 1.9 TDI which I find has ample pace for safe overtaking. The only downsides I've found is that the interior can be a bit bland and dark, think Skoda could have added a bit more flair and go for a light body colour as the dark paint seems to show blemishes more readily than other makes.Went to look at the new Citroen C3 Picasso today came away impressed although the boot looked slighty smaller so that might be worth a look too.
  8. That would be my first thought as well.Surely you would have noticed a big crack like that when you were washing it and you would certainly have heard it if it cracked as you were driving, and if something had dropped on it,it would have to have been quite heavy and would probably have stayed on the roof or landed by the side of the car.
  9. All this talk is fine but what you really need is one of these YouTube - Doran Cunningham Horn in the Berkshires
  10. How come the Scout has a plastic tailgate when all other models have metal?very strange
  11. Blimey you didn't get 900 miles out of the first tank surely?
  12. Well my manual states that in some markets that button releases the tailgate.I thought forums like this were here to help, judging by some of the answers obviously not
  13. Average about 50mpg in mine.I have seen 60 on a run when I was taking it steady
  14. Have you tried swapping the rear switch with the front switch to see if that solves it? I have wind-ups on the back and they seem to have a tendency to unwind themselves, only by a couple of mm's but enough to make it annoying.Anybody else suffered this?
  15. not had any problem of it falling into the console but I can only push the aux lead in halfway otherwise it cuts out the speakers on one side, very odd
  16. It's supposed to be a parking light so people can see you parked in unlit streets. The only trouble is they haven't re-engineered it for right-hand drive (offside light should be on)so it kind of defeat the object:confused:
  17. Of course you could swap your Brand new Scout without shelf bits for my year old 2 that has shelf bits,I wouldn't mind
  18. Standard on the 2 as well over here.Bit stingy of Skoda not to make them standard for every Market
  19. I haven't got the figures for the roomster but for a fabia estate 1.9 tdi 30-70 thru the gears is 11.2 and 50-70 in 5th is 11.5 they should be pretty similar although it does feel faster than that on the road.Plenty of power for any occasion really
  20. Why do all these different settings have to be done at a Skoda dealer. What's the point of allowing all these settings if the customer doesn't have any knowledge of them?
  21. I had a Berlingo in 2004 (1.6 petrol). It was surprisingly good to drive with a very comfortable ride. There was certainly more room in the boot than in the Roomster and although the idea of the sliding rear doors was a good one,in practice they were very awkward to open from the inside.I have sat in the new version and can say I was very impressed although it has grown in size somewhat,so much so that it's no longer a real rival of the Roomster more of the size of the old Galaxy with two fewer seats. The Roomster has a much more quality feel than Citroen too
  22. Not really sure why you need an unlock button there at all because once you pull the interior handle the car unlocks itself
  23. Did you get it from Letchworth Skoda? it looks like their parking bay. part number for the boot cover is DMK770005 £12.77 + VAT
  24. Well as the bloke looks like Windsor Davies,I reckon he's saying "That Roomster there,It Ain't 'Alf Hot Mum":D
  25. What polisher are you using and what is the rated wattage.I've got to find one rated below 300 watts as I have no power near my garage so have to rely on a jump-start pack
