  1. I was told my dealer that new car engines now adays don't need to be run in like they used to. However, he did say that it would be a good idea to keep uner 4,000 revs for the 1st 500 miles.
  2. I had a choice of dealers when it come to buying my new Fabia and I chose this one as it offered by far a much better approach to selling the car. Whilst the other dealer tried the intense selling approach and tried to flogg us extra paint protection, while Witham & sons let the car sell itself. A completly no pressure and relaxed selling technique. You do not get the impression you are just a tick in the box so they can hit a sales target. They let us go on a test drive unaccompanied which some dealers don't and were very knowledgable about the car. They were also the best priced and communication was excellent over telephone and email. I have not had to use them for aftersales car or servicing as yet so cannot review. Definately would recommend them and wouldn't hesitate to buy more cars from them in the furture.
  3. Thanks. My dealer told me to keep the revs low for the first 500 miles so I have yet to really stretch the legs on it yet. Having only done short drives around London roads I am so far happy with the performance. MPG I seem to be averaging 35 miles to the gallon. Manouvring in and out of heavy traffic is a doddle.
  4. I picked up my brand new Fabia level 3 1.6 petrol (in black) last week and wanted to say hello to the forum posters and thanks. I've been lurking on this site now for a couple of months before making my decision. I wanted to get a feel for what owners thought of the car before I went ahead with my purchase. I never even considered a skoda until I was forced to drive one at work and was taken back by how good it was. Everyone on the forum seemed to be really enthusiastic about their car and I can see why now. I couldn't be happier with the car. Thanks.
  5. I got the same impression as you from this forum. The petrol appeared never to be highly ratesd. However,..... I picked up my 1.6 petrol level 3 last week after test driving the deisel. I found the diesels to be very loud in comparison. I understand that you get used to this but considering I would be doing less than 10k a year it didn't seem worth it. i am extremly happy with the 1.6 petrol and am surprised by just how good it is. It corners great and you can really throw into a corner without any trouble. Ypu definately won't regret it.
