  1. Rear brakes are mooing according to other theads anyone know the modified brake pad part number????????????
  2. Think I have sussed it, I believe it is the osr brakes allthough the pads look fine there must be a binding issue!! I have heard of problems on the rear brakes before, and I have also heard of a modification some sort of damper!!! anyone know what this is and what it involves???
  3. brand new with good tension and no contamination:confused:
  4. Hi all I have just replaced cambelt, tensioners and water pump 200 miles ago just had a/c regased on my octavia 2.0 aqy 2001 18" rs4 alloys it has covered 65000 miles and has been running great until this afternoon!! Basically when I pull away not fast just normal at about 25mph I get like a rubber on metal sort of resonation sound on and off (pulsating) bit like an old fashioned horn. At first I suspected the brakes so have checked the meat on the pads but there is plenty!! Also flew through mot yesterday with no advisories. Cant see how a regas could upset it but this was the last thing that was done before the sound has become evident - must be a coincidence!!!???? Any sugestions would be most appreciated.
  5. Dont forget the engine mounting bolts!!!!
  6. After reading this and currently halfway through the cambelt change I realise I am 2 or 3 bolts short!!! The most important ones that go into the block!! If anyone has these I am willing to pay good ££ or swap a brand new Koni sport spring kit But I need for this monday!!!! My car has the AQY engine 2.0 I live in march cambridgeshire you can email me at [email protected]
  7. Goto vagcat.com where you can find all oe part numbers etc.
  8. yes everything tested ok on the test but when scanning various addresses for modules i get the no response from controller apearing. i have tried changing the com ports etc on device manager but still no good.
  9. Sorry desperate for feedback as I want to make the right choice, will be fitting on monday
  10. I NOW HAVE ONE FIRSTLINE METAL IMPELLAR PUMP AND ONE PLASTIC IMPELLAR AIRTEX PUMP - WHICH ONE WILL I FIT???????
  11. I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM TOO MAYBEE I DID NOT CONNECT IT PROPERLY LAPTOP RECOGNISES LEAD AND THE LED LIGHTS WHEN I CONNECT TO THE CAR BUT IT SAYS ABOUNT THE CONTROLLER. WHAT IS THE CONTROLLER?? IS IT THE ECU???
  12. Im now totally confused as to which pump to fit!! I am in posesion of the brass impellar type which looks well made but I have read the previous points about bearing failure. I believe that the bearings could fail on either the plastic or metal pumps and the impellar would make no difference, but I see the point about if the bearing does fail the metal impellar could jam where the plastic one would destroy itself. As I have been studying this issue at length on this forum I can say I am not aware of any issues with bearing failure at all on these pumps!!!! where as the impellars seem to be letting us down!! What should I do ????? lets vote thumbs up who has metal impellar and thumbs down who has stuck with plastic:thumbup::thumbdwn:
  13. Anyone going??? Modified Nationals, Britain's Premier Styling, Performance & Mobile Electronics Show went last year was quite good - will be going this year if I can.
  14. I work at gsf and have only seen the plastic ones!! But will look tommorrow to find out as I need one!! 65.000 miles no cambelt change yet - im scared!! Will post gsf reference number here if I find a metal one.
