  1. Just ordered Pagid disks and pads all round from ECP for £117, bargin if you ask me.
  2. Just ordered Pagid Brake Pads (Rear) - Part Number: 10441388 and will be fitting them on the weekend so i will let you know
  3. I stuck mine just to the right of the steering wheel, just out of the way of the indicator stalk. Great place as it's easy to reach and read while driving. Oh and it stuck fine with the adhesive pad that it came with!
  4. I'll double check now i know exactly where to look but i'm fairly sure i don't. Thanks
  5. Just sorted my quote and it comes to £129 for Pagid disks and pads all around and the wind-back tool, not too bad. I would rather go through ECP just to be on the safe side if anything needs returning or sorting in a hurry. London, and Devon when i go to see the fokes.
  6. Right so after trawling through lots of other sites i'm fairly sure i have the right sizes now: Fronts: 131.4x62.6x18.8 Rears: 52.9x17.2x:86.8 Euro Car Parts shows so many different sized pads for the fronts it had caused some confusion, it turns out the ones that the right size are the ones with no picture so of course i hadn't clicked on them - Thanks for getting me over that one! Now it would be great if someone could clear up the wear indicator issue, just to clarify this is a Fabia VRS.
  7. Thanks Sarah, but any clarification on which one is the right one?
  8. Thanks for that Soot1e, no need to worry about matching makes then. I am still unsure as to which pads to get though as for the VRS they seem to have a number of different dimension and "restrictions"pads listed: Fronts: H:51.2/50.6mm;Th:17.2mm;W:141.8mm - Restriction PR No:1LB; 1LM or H:54.7mm; Th:19.7mm;W:146mm - Restriction PR No:1LQ; 1LR Rears: H:52.7mm;Th:17.2mm;W:86.9mm or H:52.9mm;Th:17.2mm;W:86.8mm Not sure if i'm missing something here if so please do tell!
  9. Hi everyone, Simple question i am after a set of standard disks and pads for both front and back (I say simple but i still can't find the answer after searching some 20 odd pages). I'm happy with the disk sizes on a standard VRS being: Fronts: 288mm - Pagid Brake Disc (Front) - Part Number: 104440798 Rears: 232mm - Pagid Brake Disc (Rear) - Part Number: 104440748 I am now struggling to find the correct pads to match. I was using Euro Car Parts but they have 20 odd sets of pads. I was hoping to use Pagid so i had matching disks and pads all round but the only rear pads they do seem to have wear indicators on them which i believe the Fabia doesn't have. If anyone would be kind enough to shout me some part numbers or dimensions that fit for both front and back it would be greatly appreciated (i know a Haynes would answer these questions for me but i was planning on ordering that with the brakes). NOTE: Anyone who finds this in a search for the similar thing i have found the following pages very helpful: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/57923-fabia-vrs-how-to-change-rear-discs-and-pads/ http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/73071-fabia-vrs-brake-pads/ Cheers!
  10. Thanks for the offer, i did some more calling around and got a very good offer from Willis Motor Company who are a main dealer not too far down the road from me. I'm booked in for next week so i'll report back on how i get on. p.s. if anyone has used them and can offer any feedback it would be welcome.
  11. Thanks for that, I'll see what their prices are like. Anyone else?
  12. Hi, Sorry to drag up an old thread but I'm after a garage somewhere near to the west of London (Ealing). I need to have my cam belt changed soon and want to make sure it goes to a good garage, any suggestions welcome! Cheers Ed
  13. Can't remember what make mine is but it takes a standard coax, but then has a little converter which plugs into the stick it's self. Good little thing mind!
  14. Hi, I just fitted one of these to my Fabia last weekend, it's dead easy! You are bound to have ISO fitting in the Octy (MK1?) so no need for a wiring harness. basically it's just a case of unplugging the cables that run into the back of you headunit and plugging them into the female adapter on the parrot wiring harness, you then take the male connectors from the parrot wiring harness and plug those back into the back of the headunit. They will only fit in one way around so you can't go wrong. As for the mute cable on mine it was mute cable 2 that needed to be connected up, but as this is a simple push pull connector if you get it wrong you can always change it (you will know it’s in wrong because it won’t mute the radio when you receive a call). Then it's just a case of plugging all the bits into the blue control box, again you can only do it one way around, they won't fit in any other way. I strongly advise pulling all the cables out plugging it all in and testing it before you lay and of the cables, then you can be 100% sure you have it the right way around and working. The hardest part I came across was trying to fit all the cables and control box back in behind the headunit; it's a really tight fit in the Fabia. This is the link for the wiring diagram with you may find of some help too: http://www.parrot.com/documents/en/support/schemasdinstallation/pdf/Pin%20out%20Skoda2.pdf But all in all I don’t think it is possible to plug any of the cables in the wrong way around, so trial and error my well be your friend. Any specific questions then post them up and I’ll see if I can help .
  15. I have used Karcare off Boulton road in Reading. I only used them for my old car for both MOT's and services and haven't yet taken my skoda there but only because the time hasn't come. They will definatley be getting a call as they have always been good to me and i'm fairly sure they are VAG specalists. Worth a call either way if you ask me.
  16. I have connected up a standard connect2 (3.5mm input not the ipod one) and all it required was pluging into one of the mini iso sockets (the row above the large brown iso connector you have in your pic) Think it goes in the right hadside as your picture is, although it will only fit in one of them. Then you just have to attach the earth cable somewhere, i wrapped mine around the thread the rubber stopper is on. job done!
  17. Just wondering if this got anywhere? I'm in the situation where i want to switch between an auto changer and a connects2. It would be very nice if there is a solution as i can't decide which is be the best solution at the moment.
  18. Thanks Hedge, I’ll make a call in the morning to see how they fair. The thing is I have now seen we get a work discount with etyres (mobile fitters) which makes them very cheap. Anyone heard of them, a few mentions in the forums but not much? #################################################################### You were right Hedge, very good price from Bracknell tyres, booked it with them for Monday morning! Cheers
  19. Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows of a good tyre fitters in Reading, by the looks of the wear on my tyres i'm going to need the tracking done so would like a decent place. Many thanks Ed Sorry after reading about how bad Kwikfit are i found a post by blackspaven recommending Just tyres in Reading. Sorry to have started a thread with out doing a proper search and read
  20. I would second the fuse point, as I have just had EXACTLY the same thing. there are quite a few posts on here about the water freezing in the pipes if you don't have a strong enough mix (I will be using pre mixed during the colder months from now on). The fuse is one of the little red 10 amp ones, I think it is on the bottom row and about the third bank back from the front (fairly sure there is a diagram in the manual).
  21. Steve, If you just after a 3.5mm aux in then the Connects2 CTVSKX001 will do it, only £40 to! Below is where i bought mine from and the best price i could find (about a week ago) Connects2 Skoda Fabia / Octavia auxiliary input adapter - CTVSKX001 from Connects2
  22. Just had a look and everythng we have points to the Cisco website, however we do have a different link: Cisco Corporate Marketing | Network Topology Icons Not sure if thats just an old set because we also have the current link listed. Guess you best bet is to with the HP kit
  23. I take it you don't like the ones on the cisco site then? Have you managed to find any yet? If not let me know and i'll have a look (don't want to turn on the work laptop this time at night!)
  24. I just got a Connects2 CTVSKX001 after all the recommendations on here, best price i could find it was: Connects2 Skoda Fabia / Octavia auxiliary input adapter - CTVSKX001 from Connects2 I would definatley recommend them as well, ordered Sunday evening arrived Tuesday morning and at a great price. Only took a few minuites to fit (although it took a lot longer to find a nice little place to hid the box away) and it does everything i want (give me a 3.5mm aux input).
  25. Nice one, thanks for that! Are you using your amp to power the door speakers? Sounds like some people have noticed quite a difference doing that to the standard speakers.
